Quote# 1126

You are demonstrating the very point I was going to move to on that subject: the superiority of the Bible account. It lacks the mythical embellishments of many other flood legends.

I'm sure you realize many of these flood legends add embellishments which are totally unscientific. This is one of the ways the Bible account is unique.

Quote# 1125

Meanwhile, what I meant by B.C.E. was: before the common error. That error being in the worldly calendar we use which carries the mathematical absurdity that Jesus was born B.C. If our calendar was correct, Jesus would be born 1 A.D. But our calendar is in error - hence B.C.E. = before the common error ( i.e. error in this calendar).

Quote# 1124

Let us make man in ( Our image ). Before man was made from the dust, where did the man image quote come from?. Only the quote was said after eyons of time for man to invent a language did that became existant.

Did the apes and the chimps overheard the talk between the gods of their big plan?.

Quote# 1123

It is also this same basic role God plays when He kills yet we don't understand why.

Example: Your dad spanks you. You ask why. He says because I love you. You say why.

'Well....you just ain't ready to understand, son.'

Well, "killer" usually implies an unjustified taking of life. God is not subject to the laws of men. As Creator, He can destroy what He creates.

Quote# 1121

This life is a single drop in the ocean of eternity. The children that God supposedly killed would have grown up evil. Perhaps He was saving them from choosing Hell later in life, by allowing them to grow up in heaven. A moments pain in this life is nothing compared to eternity.

This would of course mess up their freewill, but perhaps God choose to take mercy on them.

Quote# 1119

[Replying to people who don't understand how killing every firstborn infant in Egypt could possibly be justified]

God has justification and I am owed no explanation. Thats the part of humility which Christians must grasp.

All I can say is God does what He does for the 'greater good'.

Quote# 1116

[On God-ordered atrocities in the Old Testament]

The killing of the children were not for the childrens action but for their parents punishments.

Not one way do I see death as hateful. Not one way do I see God allowing these children any suffering, for it is not biblically supported.

They died and it was tragic to mankind and the only reason we find it wrong is because God told us not to murder.

[Replying to 'how do you rule out an eternal, primordial universe from which ours sprang?']

The same way I rule out pink elephants creating the Universe. If you have a valid theory, please present it for review.

Otherwise, your just engaging in wishful thinking trying to slip out of God's hands like a greased pig.

Quote# 1111

Because good without God doesn't exist. In other words, every act is always selfish. If God comes into your life, this changes and acts and people become less selfish. Now, does that mean there are no good acts? No. People DO do good things. But most people do good deeds to make themselves feel better about themselves or they don't know why they do good deeds. It just feels good and right to them. But that's God working in them.

Quote# 1110

If one accepts that there is a God, then one is already moving away from what is scientific. In that case, is contradiction really that much of a problem? One must use a critical mind when looking through the Bible, even if one is a believer, but if one has already decided that there is a God, then aren't the contradictions relatively trivial? Are the details *that* important?

Quote# 1109

[Arguing for Noah's ark]

For those who don't believe consider this quote from the site:

'There comes a time when people have to learn to think for themselves. We've become lazy- we want to be told what to think; we want someone to lay it all out for us. Life gets comfortable- if we learn that Noah's Ark really existed, we may have to adjust some of our other thinking and that may not be a real pleasant prospect.'

So the gathering of dinos was put on hold and they drowned.

[On alleged satellite photos of Noah's ark]

I've learned never to ask a liberal to ask what repercussions there might be if part of the Bible end up being proven true. They simply plug their ears, stomp their feat and scream, "lalalalalalala I can't hear you." Then giggle to themselves at how proud they are of being closed minded.

Quote# 1103

[After a 'miraculous' cancer recovery was debunked]

These miracles go through an extremely strict validation process by the Church. Sometimes it takes centuries to be sure of their validity. And only after that is done, can the person become a Saint.

If the Church has approved this miracle, then it has passed all the tests. I take their word for it over any secular news report.

Quote# 1102

A worldview that totally dismisses God puts the final authority on Man.
WHen the final authority rests on Man, it is changing, arbitrary, and creates a Hitler. And if you proclaim no other authority than Man, then like you said, it comes down to who has the biggest gun?
