I found that one of the neatest ways to get a grasp on the gospel was through tracts. Not just any ones but certain ones. I have always LOVED Chick tracts. You can read them on line at http://www.chick.com, and you can order them.
They are a double edged sword like the Word. You read them first and grow in understanding, then give them away. Or just place them strategically(sp?).

Some people have a problem with chick tracts due to his strong stand against catholicism but I choose those that minister to me or that I want to distribute.

It is an excellent way to get your faith and your Word level grounded and built up.

Did anyone ever read a book by Johanna Michelson called "The Beautiful Side of Evil"? Christians are more and more being deceived by Yoga saying things like "it really helps my neck or back" or "I just want some exercise". Well of course it works. And wicca works and divining works and hypnosis often works. Just because something is of Satan doesn't mean it won't work.

And I believe we can no more celebrate Halloween in a "good" way than we could commit adultry in a good way or steal in moderation.

It's like the old brownie story. They parents told their children that the brownies they made had just a little poop in them. They wouldn't be able to taste, or smell it, so they shouldn't worry about eating the poop.

This story is the same with Halloween. No matter how much icing is on the brownies or how much "christianized" chocalate we sprinkle into the mixture, they are still poop brownies and fully inedible as Christians.

There is nothing wrong with pumpkins or even spiders and webs to decorate. Witches are considered evil in the theme of Halloween so that is good. But I think it is important to be careful on this holiday to make sure you know where your kids are because Satanist do use the Holiday to further their agenda.

Also, if you are really concerened about the impact of "Satan's holiday" dress your children up as biblical figures and use the opportunity to knock on people's doors as a chance to evanglize.

A few times when were kids my Dad would introduce himself as a preacher and give out pocket versions of the new testiment.

Secondly if you are a born again, blood bought Christian NO ONE can cast a spell on you because the Holy Spirit indwells us and Satan cannot cross the blood line of Jesus Christ.

Now if youre not a Christian, then yes you can have hexes, spells, and curses put on you by those who know what they are doing, but I contend that the blood of Jesus covers all who are His, and He keeps them protected from such things.

As for what's called physical evil - natural disasters and the like - well, these things can be avoided or prevented if we come to a better understanding of God and His Creation. (Including, of course, the natural laws governing that Creation. I think it's part of my Christian duty to have faith and practice the scientific method.)
