Quote# 3452

Atheists are comfy because they don't have a higher being to answer to, and do not have to sacrifice anything that God has asked of them, so atheism is the 'easy' way out. That is until it's time for judgement.

Once again i am recieving a lot of christian morals and ethics such as : Do unto others as you would have them do unto you . But that's not what i want , what i want is a non christian view as to why i shouldn't do these things.

Quote# 3449

Morality, belief in God and accepted standards make for an ordered and civilized life. Do you want to live in fear of your fellow man or live in security? Belief in Jesus should keep people acting in such a way that society benefits greatly.

Now it is becoming more and more where a person who believes homosexuality is wrong is going to be put in jail by the thought police. You watch!

Quote# 3446

This is something that stems from the desires (Usually males) that one has towards the opposite sex, that when you are not exposed to the opposite sex, warps to a same sex tendency.

Quote# 3445

They say that this fish evolved from having eyes to having no eyes, becuse down their on the ocean floor there is no light, so the eyes became a vestigial structure and eventually disappeared altogether. they say that is proof for evolution. well, show me a fossilized fish with half an eyeball.

Quote# 3444

I think evolution is flat out stupid. The big bang theory has been disproved by natural laws of physics.

Quote# 3443

During the tribulation period that is exactly what they will do. Just like at the beginning of the church they liked to feed the Christians to the lions. Of course every now and then a christian comes along like Daniel that has enough of the power of God in them to shut the mouth of the lion.

Quote# 3442

It [that insult] was meant to be constructive. Scholars use to think the earth was flat, the Sun rotated around the earth, fly’s came from rotting meat, and today they believe we cam from a rock that came from scattered dust that came from nothing exploding.

For example, a prophecy about 'not one stone shall be left on another' doesn't literally mean that if you can find 2 stones that were unseperated the prophecy is disproved.

Quote# 3438

Those who believed the earth was flat, whether Christians or not, did so based on their limited understanding of observations they made....very much like evolutionists today. Like theistic evolutionists today, Christians who believed the earth was flat tried to distort and misinterpret the clear teaching of Scripture in order to 'save face' with the 'scientific' community.

Quote# 3436

I use reason for most of life. When I drive my car, I use reason and logic, so I'm quite safe to be driving by. But as concerns beginnings and endings, logic and reason lead to a place where I do not want to go, so I dispense with them. I assure you, I have no choice in the matter: it is either faith or the lunatic asylum for me.

Quote# 3435

My attitude towards science is very much one of mistrust, contempt and fear. Man had many comforts of faith in the past, such as geocentrism and special creationism, and science has done all to violate those shrines. I concede heliocentrism and evolution, but I will not let science touch God and the afterlife. If science says there is no God and no afterlife, then science can go to hell.

Quote# 3434

No scientific evidence, verified or unverified, can be allowed to take precedence over the existence of life after death. That is my dogma, my fixed assumption, and I have an absolute and desperate stake in that belief. If I stop believing in life after death, I shall find myself in a lunatic asylum very soon. I will not debate life after death, and I will not look at evidence against life after death. I believe in theistic evolution because it provides the promise of an afterlife.

Quote# 3433

And I also believe I have a right to ignore science when it conflicts with my personal happiness. Scientists have the freedom to give naturalistic interpretations to Near-Death Experiences, and I have the right to ignore those interpretations completely. I accept heliocentrism and evolution because the price to pay is not unbearable; but I will never accept a scientific finding that points to the absence of life after death - that's really too much to bear.

Quote# 3432

If you say there is no reason to believe in theistic evolution, I will agree with you. I find theistic evolution the best way to keep my cherished beliefs without having to go to war against the facts. Theistic evolution is a compromise, certainly, but it's the only way to keep vital faith without resorting to creationism. If someone should convince me that theistic evolution is an untenable position, I will inevitably become a creationist, because full-fledged materialism is for me not an option.

Quote# 3431

Yes, science has got us out of the 'Dark Ages', certainly, but at what price? I think I'd be much happier if I were living in the so-called Dark Ages than now. Then there was certainty, now only doubt all the time.

I just read the page that you linked above, and I'm sorry, but that is one of the weakest argumentative papers I've read in a long time. At one point, you use the Satanically inspired Koran to prove a point!
