Quote# 24657

it is the truth, no other book has stood the test of lasting over 2000 years with out being changed. And with all the advanced researchers and analysts in the world not one portion of the bible can or has been disproved. Your university science books need to be revised every year or so...I would trust the one with the better track record.

Quote# 24651

EXTREME punishment happens if you disagree with homosexulity or God forbide unknowingly or knowingly a homosexual is killed or murdered - the punishment is worse - simply because a homosexual is dead. This is ridiculous.

[...]

Victims that are "straight" don't have this extra punishment laid on the killer or murderer. It's crazy and imo reflects Satan's growing hold on people today. Heaping on more punishment for when one of his own are murdered ... .

Quote# 24649

[On approval of the Wiccan symbol to be placed on Wiccan soldiers' gravestones.]

I think it is incredibly sad that it has come to this in a nation that was originally founded upon Christian principles. We allow a satanic symbol in a national cemetary that honors our war heroes. That is so incredibly sad and disgusting it breaks my heart.

People put this new American ideal of tolerance (even when it comes to satanic religions) above God's law and God's commands. Let me tell you, it is far more important from an eternal perspective to be a good Christian than a good American. At one time I believe these two things were synonymous but now I believe they are at odds.

What saddens me the most, beyond measure, is that there is such widespread acceptance on a Christian message board of this idea of allowing wiccans to place their symbol in a national cemetary. This is surely a sign we are getting close to the end. The cross is the only symbol that should be allowed in a U.S. national cemetary, anyone who wants something else (especially something satanic) should be buried elsewhere.

Quote# 24633

God creates Earth, Man, Animals, etc. in one week. Yet the Book makes no mention of the dinosaurs. Perhaps they could be included under the classification of animals, but even if that is true there is still a problem. From what we can tell, dinosaurs existed 230 million years ago, while humans have only existed for 200,000 years. So how could both have been created in the same week?

Here are some possible explanations I have come up with. I don't necessarily believe these either, but they would fix things.

1. Satan created the fossils to cause controversy over the Bible's credibility.

2. The fossils are actually no more than bone like rocks.

3. A week span during the creation of Earth was much longer than what we now record as a week. For example, perhaps each day then would be equal to 32 million years by how we measure time and after that, days became the length they are today.

4. Scientists who study fossils are wrong in their calculations and the dinosaur fossils are indeed no older than human fossils.

So what do you guys think?

Quote# 24650

[More on the Wiccan symbol now allowed on soldiers' headstones.]

The couple of times I've visited national cemetaries, I personally found it extremely comforting to see the symbol of the cross, a symbol of salvation and love and victory, in such a place. I know not everyone shares my view, but I think it would've taken away from it immensely to see a satanic symbol that represents death and defeat and suffering on such hallowed ground. I have the priviledge of having the choice of being buried in a national cemetary or my family's cemetary when I die and the thought of my family have to see a satanic symbol on the headstone next to mine for years and years to come makes me much more inclined to want to be buried in my family's cemetary.

Quote# 24643

Have you ever seen the horror of the suffering which Hitler inflicted upon the Jews during World War II? Have you ever paused to reflect upon WHY God would allow such pain, suffering and death to be inflicted upon these descendants of Abraham? Well, I have, and each time I see TV footage which shows their efflictions I am reminded of the words of their ancestors, who many years ago, at the time when they cried out for Pilate to impose the sentence of death upon our Lord, they explicitly stated: "Let his blood be upon us, AND ON OUR CHILDREN." (Matthew 27:25) Is this not further evidence which supports my assertion that the sins of our forefathers are heaped upon their descendants?

[...]

After all, it was their words which condemned them, and we see the results of their rejection of our Lord being meted out upon their descendants. Hitler just happened to be the instruments through which such destruction came.

Quote# 24642

[In response to a question about why people who have no knowledge of Jesus would be condemned to hell...]

Insofar as the native Americans are concerned, let us not forget that during the great flood of Noah's day, ALL, except those 8 who were aboard the ark, were destroyed! This means that the native Americans were the direct descendants of Noah, and at some point in time their forefathers were exposed to the TRUTH which would have saved them, had they elected, of their own volition, to heed and obey.

Quote# 24641

[In response to a story about a law trying to mandate gender-neutral bathrooms in public school for transgendered students, among other things.]
Er - EWWW!! What about all those people who are perfectly FINE being their own gender and want to be modest. Infact 'want' isnt the right word. Even if i didnt want to be modest (perish the thought) then i would still be modest, because that is what God has commanded us to be. So gender-neutral bathrooms would be persecuting Christians.

(yes, she is actually saying that the founding fathers of the US misinterpret the constitution)

You are mistaken. There is no separation of church and state in US Constitution. That is an old outdated ACLU myth long repudiated by the courts.

The vast number of people believing that the myth of separation of church and state is NOT in the constitution include the founding fathers and the US Supreme Court!

Just to set the record straight.

Quote# 24635

[This is a moral judgement that implies that people who get a venereal disease somehow "deserves" to get sick. I won't go into detail as to how absurdly false that implication is but I will try to rebut this argument by asking: what about those born with congenital syphillis? How did these children ever "deserve" this disease?]

I shall rebut your rebuttle:
1. (Exodus 20:5) - "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,"
2. (Deuteronomy 5:9) - "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,"
3. (Exodus 34:6-7) - "Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."
4. (1 Cor. 15:22) - "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive."

If you don't think the Bible is fair game, then that's just too damn bad.

He's right. B. If you had proof, you would show it C. You can't do anything about his offer cuz you got nothing pal. You know he's right that all scientists will offer is micro evolution proff Cuz you guys got nothing else to sit your butts on! everything else you simply believe and "infer" that it somehow all had to work out. Quote# 24628

The origin of life is a matter of history; history can only beknown by eyewitness accounts. The Bible is the recorded eyewitness account provided by the Architect of the universe, the Creator of all life.
The Bible isn't in conflict with observable science but is consistent with it. It's the history book of the universe. It thells us about the origin of life and the origin of death. Since we all eventually will face death, the answers in the Bible, authored by the Creator, should be of prime interest.

Is there any explosion that produces order? Does a terrorist bomb create harmony? Big bangs cause chaos. How could a Big Bang produce a rose, apple trees, fish, sunsets, the seasons, hummingbirds, birds, animals, trees, all with their own eyes, nose and mouth?

(The whole thread is just hilarious)

(Hey everyone, I have a question...Has anyone on here every heard of David Blaney and Chris Angel? They are people who I personally believe are demon possesed, they do "street magic". I have watched each of them on the t.v and will never watch it again...even though I have figured out how some of the "magic" is done, I still don't believe it is something for a Christian to watch. Most of what they do is humalny impossible, thats why I think they are possesed. What are your thoughts?)

QUOTE(RuntoWin @ May 2 2007, 09:11 AM)
why do you guys think that they are demon posessed?

B/c of the sick things they do.. for example... this lady was standin there.. an u saw her watch disappear.. an u look in the store front window an its on display on one of the manicans...THAT IS DEMON POSSESSION to me.... An we turned it off...
God gives us common sense.. we have the Holy Spirit inside of us.. n i got a sick feeling..

[Talking about a plan to allow 'gender confused' children to use either a male or female restrooms]

This is absolutely sick, perverted and twisted. No, wait -- there is a Bible word for it: it is an abomination. Folks, God made a covenant with Noah to never destroy the world again by water, but He never made a covenant with Lot. He never promised not to destroy another city or state for their sin. I am not a prophet and I am not predicting anything, I am just pointing out the fact that God will judge in His time.

Remember New Orleans and their scheduled city-wide Sodomite-pride festival? Remember how it ended? That city of debauchery is still trying to clean up from Katrina.

i have one question. How is one to compete or try to reach out to people in all places especially school when all they feed us is huxley's " Brave New World" or Oscar Wilde's " Picture of Dorian Grey" . how is one to show the irrationality of those books and the message they potrary, to pinpoint the flaws and errors in thier secular philosophies? When the bible is not even mentioned or even thought of. We must have to battle intellectually just for the very existance of god! my point is thinking critically, or LOGICALLY in away that makes sense and point toward the CROSS

Quote# 24616

If evolution is true, why are there seeds?

Why do the largest seeds produce the smallest fruit and smalest seeds produce the largest fruit?

If you say evolution had to provide a way to feed life?Evolution is a theory;kind of an inanimate thing, and to say evolution had to do this that and other thing; your giving evolution a living and intelligent quality wich can't be true;cause evolution it's self is not alive.Which makes more sense? It just evolved or a creator knew to provide sustinance for the life He created?

Would it not make sense that bigger fruit should have bigger seed? And vise versa? But it's not like that. Why?

Mustard seed is the smallest seed, yet it produces a large tree, watermelons are a big fruit but also have small seeds.Peaches are a small fruit but have big seeds.Apples and oranges are descent sized, but they also have some small seeds.

Is it just me,or is there something wrong with evolution?

Quote# 24613

No one is forced to have an illegal abortion. That is a choice that you make. Making abortion illegal will not force women to have an illegal abortion. They will choose to break the law and have one.

Should we have pity on the rapist who feels he forced to commit rape because it is illegal? Should we have pity on the murderer who feels he is forced to murder simply because the act of murder is illegal? Should we have pity on the arsonist who thinks he is forced to commit arson just because it is illegal? If abortion is made illegal and women Choose to have an illegal abortion it isn't because they were forced to have an illegal abortion it will because they chose to have an illegal abortion. And using the old excuse such as, “We have 1.2 million illegal abortions every year and that should be a good excuse to make it legal makes as much sense as a rapist saying, “We have 1.2 million illegal rapes a year. So we should make it legal.”
