Should we accept history? If it is harmony and does not contradict the Bible and the evidence is reliable of course we do. If we have to make a choice between history or the Bible (when I say Bible I mean the KJV) of course we choose the Bible.

I have not yet had to learn evolution in Biology 1. But I do not wish to learn it in my podunk school. However, I think that it has a place in our schools so we can better understand it. I am just saying that the Theory of Creation should be taught instead of the Hypothesis of Evolution...

First of all, evolution requires lots and lots and lots of time. It needs a universe that has been around for billions of years. But, like Yasic pointed out, if you reverse-engineer the genealogies, you'll see that the universe has only been around for 6000 years --- not nearly enough time for evolution to do it's dirty work.

Second of all, evolution is dirty work. It sends out two "hit men" to do its evil:
survival of the fittest
natural selection
Both of these characters violate God's principles of love and harmony --- and thus cannot be of God.

Thirdly, Jesus, Himself always talked about Creation - He never once mentioned evolution - not even using "the language of the times". And as followers of Jesus Christ, I don't see how Christians should be embracing evolution, either.

Fourthly, after God created the universe in six days, He pronounced it "very good" - (perfect). And that would mean there's no room for improvement, thus evolution need not occur.

Friday's violence occurred as hundreds of thousands of worshipers across Iraq took part in Ashura rites commemorating the death of Imam Hussein, a grandson of Muhammad who was killed by the army of the Caliph Yazid on the plains of Karbala. Hussein's death in 680 made permanent the schism between Shiites and Sunnis over the succession after Muhammad.

...During a reenactment of Hussein's slaying in Basra, the crowd turned on the actor who was performing the part of his killer and beat the man so badly that he returned with an assault rifle to exact revenge. At least one onlooker was killed in the crossfire when soldiers tried to subdue the man and his relatives, security officials said.

The talk of economy is a cope out and you know it. It is not hard to keep your economy going, especially if you HAVE PEOPLE. If you abort all your babies, you won't have an economy in the first place!

For the record, I never said we would have to fight a war with the U.S.. We could secede from the Union without a war. And we would not have to go to war with other nations. If someone were to attack us, we would just go Nuclear on them and shut them down. The vast majority of nations will back down when you Nuke them. Like Japan did in WWII, most humans will just stop trying to fight you if you turn some of their cities into glass and shadows.

Moral values first! Then the economy. In that order.

This guy comes home from work, "Hi Honey, what's for supper?" "Whatever you're fixing." You know, she just got back from one of those meetings, those femi-nazi meetings. He said, "Honey, the house is kind of a mess, have you been busy today?" She said, "If you don't like it you clean it up." This went on for ten minutes. And finally he said, "How would you like to not see me for a week?" She said, "That would be fine with me." And sure enough on the the seventh day her left eye started to open just a little bit.

You see, people don't understand capital punishment is a great deterrent. Especially if it is public and you take your kids down and you watch someone get stoned [.....] and your kid says, "Daddy, what did they do?." "Oh, he was a bad person. He did this, this, this." You're going to impress on that little kid - he's never going to do that.

Just a question I have about the KJV though. Apparently the Greek “Mia Sabbaton” was always translated as Sabbath, except for in 2 cases in the New Testament (I forget the verse numbers) where they were “deliberately” translated as “first day of the week” - apparently to get the ball rolling for Sunday worship. Anyone care to shed light on this issue? It would be scary if even the KJV had an error, worse if deliberate!

Quote# 33887

How many of you agree that science needs to be reined in, and that out of control science is one of the greatest dangers to mankind short of Satan himself? YES

Should there be limits to what scientists can study? YES

Should all research be subjected to some kind of ethics board approval? YES

Should be some kind of review of any proposed research for ethical purposes, and should that board include people who are not themselves scientists? YES

Is the whole idea of discovery for the sake of discovery is flawed? YES

Are there limits to what mankind should be allowed to know? YES

Is the much touted liberal idea of being open minded a recipie for destruction? YES

Does being too open minded cause people to think too much and question too much? YES

Is it dangerous to think too much, and question too much? YES

Is it dangerous to know too much? YES

Does knowledge ultimately reduce peoples fear of God? YES

Is it better to be closed minded - secure in the knowledge that God has told you everything that you need to know? YES

We really need to put the breaks on science. Scientists should only be allowed to study what needs to be studied as decided by the people. Scientists should stop telling people what to believe.

Quote# 33870

Isn't it strange that Americans are so consumed with images of millions of Jews dying in Nazi concentration camps that they are oblivious to 216 million Christians who died? Nobody, not even jews, disputes that less than half the population of concentration camps were jews. Who were the other half? Christians. Even if you accepted the Holocaust story in its entirety as historical fact, this is still 25 times as many Christians as Jews who died. Many of these Christians died in the course of defending their homes and homelands, rather than in concentration camps where Jews were herded after they successfully lobbied for and got gun control laws in pre-war Germany, just as they're now doing in the US.

The more that I study the word of God and science the more “uncomfortable” that I become with heliocentric and much more comfortable with a geocentric system of things. I am seeing more and more that the bible teaches geocentric not heliocentric system. Check this guy’s page out. I have been reading a lot on it and talking to the guy who does it. His name is Gerard Bouw, Ph.D. He makes it fairly plain that you can’t prove whether the galaxy, solar system is either by science. He is a scientist, one of those Ph. D. kinds and there are others, it looks like it is growing.
His page is http://www.geocentricity.com/

[From the same thread as his other recent gold nugget - in response to the mocking comment, "Don't you know that a shield of faith gives us protection against a nuclear strike. Unless the other side is more faithful than us..."]

Maybe you're not that familiar with the Bible. But let's just say that if you understand Scripture, you understand that if you are in GODS favor you don't have much to worry about as far as enemies go.

9/11 doesn't happen if we were not a bunch of "Girls Gone Wild" and singing "Back that A@@ up" while men dance lewdly on a float wearing womens lingerie and throwing condoms into the crowd.

Yes, our shield of faith would be a shield against demonic attacks/ nuclear attacks. God simply would protect us. No man or demon can do anything to you if GOD is your Shield!!! Amen!

Mock if you want, that just means your Biblically illiterate.
