Quote# 51069

"Evolution is real!!! Charles Darwin said so." Or, "Evolution is real, my college professor said so!"

It's more than just "Well it God said it's real, so it must be real." For me, just look around you and the complexity of life. There is absolutely NO way we got here by chance. I refuse to believe we evolved from apes or the big bang theory.

When a car explodes do you see life form? When you go to the zoo, do you see an ape magically turn into a human. No.

Murdering isn't good. It kills. When you're killed you die. And when you die you loose a very important part of your life

And that important part is...?

You ability to glorify God.

Quote# 51097

Many aspects of the Bible have been verified by thorough investigation. Of course the Bible cannot be proven in a strict scientific sense like the Law of Gravity, and much of its historical background of course cannot be repeated. But the evidence supporting the Bible is both strong and sufficient. Such evidence can never itself 'prove' anything because, the Bible itself explains that the heart of man is the key issue. If a person has a right attitude then the promise 'seek and you will find' (Matthew 7 v7) applies.

Personally, I think one of the strongest evidences relates to the way in which the Bible describes the world that exists and in particular the nature of man. Much sin and wickedness is described. This is how things are still today. Murder and strife among men, and deception etc etc still abound today together with wars. The Bible does not gloss over or ignore human failure. Even great church leaders like Peter are shown to be human and needing rebuke. (Galatians 2) This is how it is today.

Hundreds of Bible Prophecies have been accurately fulfilled. Many were written hundreds of years prior to the events they describe. One relates specifically to our modern world and I believe to the medium of the Internet which has a massive amount of knowledge in it.
'But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end:many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.' (Daniel 12 v4) Men are also being transported 'to and fro' with great rapidity unthought of in Daniels's day.

Quote# 51036

(responding to a post in which a poster said that after a certain age you shouldn't spank your kids and that government schools are not evil)

It doesn't matter what your opinion is about the age of child being spanked. It's the parents decision to spank his/her child regardless of their age. I've known highschoolers who got a good whoopin from their parents when it was deserved, so that doesn't fly. There was no evidence of abuse, and his children have even said it was no big deal. Any charge is too much, there shouldn't have been charges brought at all. The teacher overstepped her authority in this matter, and now a father is facing felony charges. As far as govt. schools, they are not excellent. There are good schools and there are bad schools, but they do not all fall into the excellent category.

Also, I don't know of any state that considers all children, until they reach 18, wards of the state. Children DO NOT belong to the state, they belong to their parents. Where are you getting this stuff?

Edit to add: I really hope you mistyped here, and don't really mean what you said here, because if you do, then I consider you to be a very dangerous teacher.

Quote# 51189

well, most of these women/girls that are becoming pregnant should consider what happens next after getting laid....you get a baby. No child should die because of a careless mother or by a careless man...or in this example, a rapist. Why is that the rapist isn't chased down and done away with? He's the criminal, not the child.

There is nothing more beautiful than one that gives up his/her life for another. God gave his only begotten Son to us all, he was sacrificed for our sins so that we all may have a second chance of Life, that is life everlasting.

My point is that there IS a point if a mother gave her life for her child instead. It's a gift of Love in it's most honorable manner; and that's the gift of Life.

I am a true Christian I believe in creation. I know where I am going. I have no doubt in god's existence. There is no gamble here. If there was I wouldn't be a true Christian. YOu however have been brainwashed by Professors and Scientist who really can't even fathom the thought of something that they can't see or feel. They are irrelevant, and cannot look outside of the box.

Quote# 51038

My pastor friend went through this about 2 years ago. He spanked his daughter and she reported that he was abusing her. After over a year in court, he was found innocent, but what a mess it made for him financially and for his family. His daughter was a young teen and had been sneaking out of the house at night, running with boys 5 years or more older and he was at his wits end. She now lives with his oldest daughter (who is an adult) and the family is fractured. I know this pastor and his wife quite well and they are wonderful Christian parents. They have 5 kids and this daughter was the only "problem child". It was so painful for them to go through that.

To me, even a couple of bruises are not enough to arrest this father, unless there was a pattern. This country is going down the tubes.

Have atheist ever boycotted a film because it was immoral?
this is why christians are less moral than us. I have never watched any film or let my children see tv that did not enforce and celibrate the love of Jesus. Atheist will expose their children to violence, gay porn (including kissing and relationships of course) and not cry out as our society falls to Satan. do not be fooled, soddom and gommorag will happen again and they ill be the ones to blame. we are already in the time of the great tribulation/

Quote# 51051

Activist judges have overturned the will of the people too many times. Americans overwhelmingly oppose gay marriage so judges shouldn't be overturning laws against it.

Judges should respect the beliefs of this nation's Christian majority.

I'm consistent about this. That even goes for positions I disagree with. I support allowing interracial couples to get married. However, I recognize that in our country the people rule so it was wrong for the Supreme Court to overrule the people in Loving v. Virginia. They should've respected the will of the people, the majority that wanted interracial marriage illegal instead of legislating from the bench. The right way to get interracial marriage legalized was to change opinions and over time as opinions have changed so interracial marriage would still be legal today.

Just say no to activist judges legislating from the bench. They have no right to do that no matter what.

I am soooo embarrased and disgusted in a majority of Americans. At least you all aren’t afraid to admit who you worship and who is your God, ‘Obama’.

As for me there is only one God even the Father of Jesus Christ. And you Barrack Hussain OBama cannot fool his diciples. Enjoy Obama, you were prophesied of. The Anti-Christ. What? people thought he would have horns or something? No, Satan is way to cunning for that…he know the lusts and weakness of man kind. Only those with a true testimony of Christ will see threw him. Obama will have his reward on earth and burn in hell for eterntity.

I am sad for my brothers and sisters of this world…you are all that but I am excited to be apart of ushering in these last days. Glory be to GOD!!!!!

Jonathan: Gen 1:6-7 says there is water above the firmament. Gen 1:17 says he put the sun, moon, and stars in the firmament. So where is that water again?

Me: Well that would mean space was filled with water, which is even more ludicrous

Jonathan: Why is that ludicrous?

Quote# 50990

[From an an article on MSNBC.com about the Christian Right increasing it's attacks on Obama in the final days before the election.]

But among the strongest pieces this year is Focus on the Family Action's letter which has been posted on the group's Web site and making the e-mail rounds. Signed by "A Christian from 2012," it claims a series of events could logically happen based on the group's interpretation of Obama's record, Democratic Party positions, recent court rulings and other trends.

Among the claims:

A 6-3 liberal majority Supreme Court that results in rulings like one making gay marriage the law of the land and another forcing the Boy Scouts to "hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys." (In the imagined scenario, The Boy Scouts choose to disband rather than obey).

A series of domestic and international disasters based on Obama's "reluctance to send troops overseas." That includes terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that kill hundreds, Russia occupying the Baltic states and Eastern European countries including Poland and the Czech Republic, and al-Qaida overwhelming Iraq.

Nationalized health care with long lines for surgery and no access to hospitals for people over 80.

how arrogant is science....THose people over there, including Mr Ventril Loquist, Mr Smith and Mr FrechFried Potatoe With Glasses seem to impose their knowledge to the rest of the human kind...This is far arrogant...as we know that they do not know how the Egyptians or Mayas managed to build up their Pyramids. Quote# 51049

Q u o t e:
There are holes in the current theories, yes, that doesn't change the fact that ID is one gigantic gaping hole. There is NOTHING scientific about ID, if you want to teach it in some other class, but keep it OUT of places it does not belong, like science class.

Why not in science classes? We're talking about public schools here. There are religion classes (that I know of) in public schools.

Science questions our existence, and tries to solve this through theories. Creationists put forth the idea of ID, packaged in a way that it can be taught in public schools without discriminating against students' beliefs.

Also, ID can have a scientific component. You guys make note of the chemicals used to create us, and their abundance in the universe and on meteorites. How do we know that another species or lifeform didn't purposefully "plant" us here? In that regard, ID can be scientific. After all, given all the planets in the universe, chances are there is life somewhere else. We could very well be designed.

INTERESTING FACT

1the sun shrinks 2 feet everyday!!!
therefore if the world were more then 5000 years old the earth would have been burned up
BECAUSE THE SUN WOULD have been SO CLOSE!!!

2 some of the planets have layers of ice
so the world cant be more then 5000 years old or the ice would have already melted!!!

and so many other scientific facts!!
that proves tha evolution is not true!!

Quote# 50867

Atheists are pretty stupid?

Atheists think they're superior to non-atheists (mostly) because they think they have a superior ability to use logic. Well thing is that you only see things for what they are, a primitive way of realizing conciseness.

Science is like religion in a way too, thinking up theories that make no sense at first and setting out to prove them.

Quote# 50994

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the residents of New Orleans brought the wrath of God upon themselves.

Jesus Christ HATES sin. Why can the liberals not understand this? Is it any wonder God punished that city with a mighty wind in light of their festival celebrating that which is an abomination to God? They should be on their knees repenting, begging God for mercy, instead of trying to blame mortal men for their failings in their rescue effort.

Remember that Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back upon Sodom and Gomorrah. No wonder President Bush has been reluctant to meddle in the affairs of his own City of Sin, after Almighty God has destroyed it.

The bad news is... there is much worse to come in these end days.
