Quote# 54645

What you call the absence of any proof is not the absence of any proof. It is the IGNORANCE of any proof. Every atheist who would even use the term is so simply because he has failed to realize what "God" really is, even according to the esoteric scriptural traditions. All you have to do to prove "God" is show a picture of a UFO or an out of place archaeological artifact (oopart). All you have to do to prove God is show consciousness. Atheism is just plain stupid.

The idea of people and trees being related is stupid because there is no scientific, empirical evidence that supports it. Are there fossils that bear aspects of human beings and non-living things, like rocks and trees? It's bad enough to say that humans evolved from other living creatures, but to say that living creatures and inanimate objects evolved from the same unicellular organism....? True evidence, please?

Quote# 54635

[Personal meeting with Choate. $75 per hour.]

The Prophet's House is now open.

The prophet's house is the most unique encounter with Stephen in which will be available to the public. If you want to meet Stephen face to face, he will be able to do that! We know that Jesus ministry is more personal than it was public. Our desire is to reflect the true ministry of Christ on every level. Christ made himself available to people everywhere. This is our desire before God. No other minister in the world that we know of has made themselves personal on such a high level. Stephen has no desire to follow the "System of man" or the ideas which have been passed down from one generation to another. He realizes that Jesus very own ministry was more private and personal than it was public.

What to expect:

You will feel the power of God's spirit as Stephen spend's time with you

You will receive a personal prophetic word that will inspire you beyond anything you may have encountered in your walk with God

You will be a special witness to the anointing upon Stephen's life. This past week there was a lady from Texas who came to the Prophet's house. She witnessed the supernatural oil that appeared upon Stephen's face as he prophesied to her and felt the power of God.

Information that connects to past, present, and your future as God speaks will establish the knowledge of God in your own life as it is prophesied.

You may experience healing in your physical body or witness a miracle while connecting to the Prophet's house. With God, nothing is impossible.

Become a special witness to the life of Stephen, you will know him before fame grips his time away from you. Learn from the Prophet today, and schedule your meeting this month!

Quote# 54691

(Obama the Anti-Christ....In case you're not sick of hearing this stuff ^_^)

If my calculations are correct, American Christians have just voted in our last presidential elections and won’t be here to see if Mr. Obama turns out to be the anti-Christ or not. But someone with a lot more experience in accurately predicting the future has some interesting insight into the next few years. His name is Gerald Celente, CEO of Trends Research Institute, and he’s renowned the world over for his accuracy in predicting future world and economic events.

Celente is now forecasting revolution in America, food riots and tax rebellions - all within four years, cautioning that putting food on the table will be a more pressing concern than buying Christmas gifts by 2012.

So here’s how to tell if he’ll become the anti-Christ or not. If it seems like he can do no wrong, if people feel safe and it’s beginning to look like there’ll be peace in our time, then there’s a good chance he’s the one. But if Gerald Celente’s predictions are coming to pass, and the world’s in worse shape than ever, then he’s just another Jimmy Carter, an inexperienced outsider who had no business running for president in the first place, let alone being elected.

[Another poster]
We "change" the world when we are living in the Spirit among the people, not when we force it to be what we want/think it should be.

[Chelsea responds]

There are a few posts here that allude to the same thing. I take exception to this argument, based on the following:

*Some people don't learn by example. Some people could care less about example. I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing so, but we live in a fallen world.

*How can anyone here talk about Christians "forcing" (a favorite buzzword) their views down the throats of others? Isn't this what the homosexual lobby is doing? We are merely defending our nation by opposing them, which is our right.

*If we only live by example, we are essentially keeping the Gospel to ourselves, and not sharing it with the world. And this, of course, is contrary to the Great Commission.

I will not retreat solely into example, but turn outwards and defend the Lord whenever I get the chance.

(first there was the "What will the Rapture be like?" thread...now meet "What will martial law be like?")

What will martial law be like?

I'm not trying to be 'tinhatty' here......but since I think our country is quickly headed down the path of no return I thought I would start a thread to ask what it will be like....or could be like. Not sure if this is the forum I should post this in, but since it is sure to be a last days event I thought this was appropriate. Moderators please move it to the correct category if this is wrong.

So many people have bought up guns and ammunition....seems like it would be difficult for them to confiscate them all....how do you forsee them doing this?

Do you think our children will go to school as usual or will there be a total breakdown of this? I can see homeschooling not being allowed.

Will food be rationed? With all the stores we have it seems like it might be hard to do this.....if they purposely ration food, then so many stores will go out of business and then you have a loss of jobs and with people out of work that creates unrest and more of a problem on their end I would think. Better to keep us working and distracted so they can slide stuff by us.

I'm just curious what others are thinking on this. I guess a study of the Adolf Hitler years might be a way of getting a handle on how this could be implemented.

Quote# 54638

The actual cause was that Christianity was illegal before 312. Constantine made it legal in that year.

It is still legal, but in many places such as in Canada and I think in some places in Europe, preaching unadulterated Christian doctrine, contrary to the political PC, is illegal.

My observation is that we are everywhere devolving to the point that Christianity is fine as long as each individual Christian is willing to sacrifice to the PC God.

In other words, you can privately believe whatever you want as long as you publicly agree to the pagan consensus.

Earlier Christians died in refusing to do this.

I've met a demon of homosexuality, so to say that it is of God I would beg to differ.
It resided in one of my friends, he was embarrassed but admitted it was there. That's about as far as I'll go for now.

I should probably tell you I've always had a "long-suit" in seeing these things. I can usually tell you how, if, and when they will manifest.

God bless.

Quote# 54608

*coming out stories on TV*

I won't even watch any of the series on Showtime or HBO. They are full of godlessness. It is a shame that there is not much Christian programming....or at least where I live anyway.
---
Another good reason to stop watching tv. I was flipping through the channels last Sunday afternoon, and on USA, the movie 40 yo virgin was coming on and the first scene was of the guy getting up out of bed with a morning erection. Middle of the day, on Sunday, on USA network. I was in shock. I just wonder how many kids saw it too.
---
I don't like Showtime anyways. Don't they already have a couple of gay shows on there anyways-the l word, queer as folk, um..somethin called noah's arc or something like that?? This to me isn't suprising in the least. I don't like the N! network either. They have this show about two teen lesbians, and its making it look really glamorous & okay. That's not good for impressionable kids to watch, and thats who its marketed to
---
The saddest part of it is, all the channels are going to eventually put their Sodomite catering programs on and it's going to get worse and worse. The gay agenda will begin to multiply in households as the new generation grows up under its influence.
What I have not heard anyone say on this bulletin board is the realization that homosexuality is the last state. I believe that Sodom and Gomorrah were the example of that. Once creation goes the way of refusing God's natural human order and re-instating their own perverted one.....that is the last state of mankind before intervention is called for.
And I believe we will get there soon enough
---
Here's hoping that the "coming out" series will rapidly become a "going away" series.
---
Remember the days when people actually kept shameful things secret? Now they can't wait to get on TV and tell all the world about their sick, twisted, demented lives!

For example, one speech declared, "a light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will say to yourself, 'I have to vote for Barack.'"[21]

Quote# 54685

Question: 'What makes you think there is only one religion that is right?

Answer:

I believe that when considering the entire bible you get the sense that God wants to be worshipped in a proper and semi-specific manner. For example when his only people were the Israelites he gave them over 600 different laws to live by. They had to give different kinds of sacrifices (animal, wave offerings, smoke offerings, etc.) All of the things that they did back then were very specific.

Jehovah showed then how he felt about false worship. When they worshipped him purely they had his favor, but when they mixed in with his worship the customs of other pagan nations (high places, baal worship, etc.) even if it was a small thing, they would not have his favor. Research this please because it is extremely important.

God has standards that are set out from examples in the bible of how he should be worshipped. We as JW try our best to not mix in pagan teachings with our worship of Jehovah just as he gave us these examples in his word.

So when I say to reasearch something, research things that have originated with pagan beliefs (christmas, easter, halloween). Don't take this the wrong way either because I don't want to come off like I think that I'm better that anyone at all. I really do want you to research some things. If it turns out that these things ARE pagan, then God definately would not want us to do them even if it is in the name of religion.

I guess if we wanted to find a true religion, eliminating any paganistic practices would be a good starting place :)

Quote# 54674

Barack Hussein Obama is not content with just abortion and is apparently a strong supporter of infanticide (killing children after birth). Obama has a voting record of extending abortion to the FOURTH TRIMESTER (after birth). He has been busy backpedaling and spinning his votes against the Illinois law to protect the newborn, but the facts are out there. At least he had the guts to actually vote (even if it was the wrong vote, as is his pattern), compared to the other 129 times he voted "present" to avoid anything remotely controversial in his voting record. It is also apparent from his massive "present" voting record that Obama does not consider murdering children as "controversial enough" to vote "present".
Here is a tip for Mr. Barack Hussein Obama: You can't vote "present" as the President of the USA, or dodge tough issues that are controversial.
Of course he is now backpedaling in an attempt to explain away and hide his abysmal voting record in protecting children AFTER Birth. Politicians like Obama with no moral center do things like that.
source: christ.com
---
".....no moral center" is what has had me soooo worried about Obama becoming our POTUS. To allow innocent babies to die following a botched abortion procedure is something less than human ---- pure evil.
---
I guess 53 MILLION dead babies are'nt enough(Load of format breaking exclamation marks)
---
You know what I do not get, Obama keeps saying how he hates torture and that he will stop all kinds of torture when he becomes president, but yet does he not think that killing babies is not torture? So lets treat the terrorist with kid gloves, but when it comes to babies, well killing them is OK, I just don't get it!

Quote# 54610

I have to agree with Starbuck that this so-called evolution (EVILution if you ask me) is entirely preposterous. If my cousin was a monkey, then surely I could legally marry him and have babies. But guess what? You can't because monkeys are different SPECIES so not even cousins at all!

Just one lie bandied around by the evilution brigade.

Also, if evilution were true then I would be faster than a cheetah. Because evolution means "get better", but oh look at that a cheetah runs faster than me.

If evolution were true then surely it would be in the bible (which, by the way is 100% true, if you don't believe me read the bible). Like if a snake had legs and then "magically" didn't anymore, it would be there, in the bible.

Satan has many tricks and one of them is making people pretend that digging for fossils is a real job, but he's really only doing it so that we all dig closer to Hell. That way he can grab us when we walk past and pull us down the Hell Hole to stop us being saved.

So as you can see I have PROVED evolution is false now I would like to see YOUR EVIDENCE please.

I am sick and tired of the homosexual community calling us homophobes, when the reason we disagree with their lifestyle has nothing to do with fear!!!
The reason we disagree is because we believe in the God of the Bible and He states that homosexuality is an abomination.
If anyone fears the other it is the homosexuals, I say it is time to put an end to what should be called 'Christophobia'!! That is the true problem with homosexuals. Fear of Christians and any other person who adheres to the Judeo-Christian ethics.

Quote# 54614

(This whole page "Should a Christian Celebrate Christmas?" lists everything from Christmas carols to Christmas ham as evil)

1. The blasphemous "Christ's Mass" shortened to "Christ-mas" -- The Roman Catholic "Christ's Mass" is a special mass performed in celebration of Christ's birth. In this mass, Jesus is considered both the priest and the victim, represented by the Catholic priest who offers Him as a sacrifice each time the mass is performed. In offering this "sacrifice," the priest believes he has the power to change the bread and the wine of the Communion into Jesus' literal flesh and blood, requiring the people to worship these elements as they do God Himself. This is obviously a denial of the gospel, and thereby, a false gospel (a re-doing of the sacrifice for sin -- Heb. 9:12, 24-26; 10:10,12,14). Yet, many who cry out all year long against the blasphemous Roman Catholic system, at year-end embrace Rome's most blasphemous abomination of them all -- Christmas!

Well atleast I don't waste my time digging up rocks and making profound statements that people and trees come from a common ancestor. Sheer lunacy. Do you evolutionists even hear yourself talk?

If you want to be related to trees, well you go ahead.. But what I fear most is that you are actually related to the squirrels, and your relatives are calling you from the top of the tree.

scientist actually calculated from facts that there is a 69.7564^256th power percent possibility that God exists. these were atheist scientists too. they were trying to prove that God does not exist. so if they come up with the opposite result for trying to disprove God, those that try to prove it will get better results.

the whole thing about faith is this, "Seeing is not believing, believing is seeing."
this means that we would not believe just because we can see, we believe because we cannot see. you cannot see light, wind, gravity, or a magnetic field. yet you can see the effects of them. this is the same with God. you do not need to see God to know that he is there, you merely need to see the effects of his presence.
