Quote# 44040

There's a big First Baptist Church in my city that had plans to build a BIGGER church 2 years ago. I mean they had pretty much everything locked up-the funds, agreements with city leaders over the land, etc.

However-after 6 months or so of a sign saying "Future sight of our First Baptist Church" on some land near our house, that sign hasn't been seen since, and that piece of land is still nothing but growing grass. No workers, cement, grass cut w/ mud and dirt all over the place, or even a single blueprint.

Obviously, this church scratched their plans to build a new and bigger church.
It shouldn't have had anything to do with money, b/c like I said, the funds for it were already in the bag. And their agreements with contractors, city leaders, et al were locked in stone as well.

Pt being that maybe, JUST MAYBE, God may have gave discernment to that pastor to not to do so...for the reason being IF we're approaching the end times, then building a new church would have been unecessary.

Just a thought that hit me today, that's all.

[Question]

I have a friend who is dying. She is not a Christian.
What can I say to comfort her without telling her she's going to Hell if she doesn't accept Jesus.

Quote# 44022

So what can we do to those that don't believe?
I don't understand, Elizabeth's husband didn't believe that she would have John the baptist so the angel made him dumb for awhile.

But yet Jesus didn't allow the sons of thunder to destroy a city with fire, we can't judge them and say they're going to hell, we can't even so much as look at them in a funny way because Jesus wouldn't appreaciate that.

So my question is, what can we do to those that don't believe?

(someone asks Lion of Judah what would he would like to do to non-believers)

Well I don't know, but I don't think it's fair that they get to get away with not believing.

I also think gays should be required by law to wear medic alert type bracelets inscribed with the word HOMO. In a hypothetical situation where I see some guy get hit by a car, I would be much more willing to administer medical attention if I knew whether or not the person on the ground (possibly bleeding) is a homosexual.

Quote# 44023

The Second Law of Thermodynamics was set in motion in Genesis 3 - after the Fall. Evolution, which is a form of sun worship, says that the sun provides the energy needed to keep life going on this planet. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, this supposedly life-sustaining aten cannot prevent death from occurring, nor can it bring the dead back alive.

No, the Second Law cannot prevent microevolution from occurring, but, sans divine intervention, will shut down the primary god that evolution worships.

Has it occurred to you that in Eternity Future there will be no need of the sun?

Revelation 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

I hear you, JenGC.

You know, we all have a certain level of pride when it comes to what we do...we tend to take offense at odd times and even when things are not directed at us personally.

I must agree with you that the scientists to which we are directly referring are not considering the Lord...they are, in fact, acting foolishly (even, dare I say, "dumb"). When God is not pointed to for the answer, the answer is no answer at all.

Hmmm...I must admit that I do that as well...at the end of the day we need to all do what you stated: Raise our hands and declare, "It is God!"

Maranatha!

Quote# 44019

TEN ARGUMENTS AGAINST HARRY POTTER

1. Harry Potter is a global long-term project to change the culture. In the young generation inhibitions against magic and the occult are being destroyed. Thus, forces re-enter society which Christianity had overcome.

2. Hogwarts, the school of magic and witchcraft, is a closed world of violence and horror, of cursing and bewitching, of racist ideology, of blood sacrifice, disgust and obsession. There is an atmosphere of continuous threat, which the young reader cannot escape.

3. While Harry Potter appears in the beginning to fight against evil, in fact the similarities between him and Voldemort, the arch-evil adversary in the tale, become more and more obvious. In volume five, Harry is being obsessed by Voldemort, which leads to symptoms of personality disintegration.

4. The human world becomes degraded, the world of witches and sorcerers becomes glorified.

5. There is no positive transcendent dimension. The supernatural is entirely demonic. Devine symbols are perverted.

6. Harry Potter is no modern fairy tale. In fairy tales sorcerers and witches are unambiguous figures of evil. The hero escapes their power through the exercise of virtue. In the Harry Potter universe there is no character that endeavours consistently to achieve good. For seemingly good ends evil means are being used.

7. A (young!) reader’s power of discernment of good and evil is blocked out through emotional manipulation and intellectual confusion.

8. It is an assault upon the young generation, seducing it playfully into a world of witchcraft and sorcery, filling the imagination of the young with images of a world in which evil reigns, from which there is no escape. On the contrary, it is portrayed as highly desirable.

9. Those who value plurality of opinion should resist the nearly overwhelming power of this peer pressure, which is being accomplished through a gigantic corporate and multimedia blitz--one which displays elements of totalitarian brainwashing.

10. Since through the Potter books faith in a loving God is systematically undermined, even destroyed in many young people, through false "values" and mockery of Judeo-Christian truth, the introduction of these books in schools is intolerant. Parents should refuse permission for their children to take part in Potter indoctrination for reasons of faith and conscience

(From self posted topic, "I have proof of Evolution!")

People say there is no evidence or proof of evolution but I have some!

For example, there are dinosaur eggs and those hatched birds because they are both eggs!

And although there is no video I'm sure one day we will see a dog give birth to a cat!

And to those who say our great grandfathers weren't giant black gorillas, who are you to say they weren't?? Do you have PROOF they weren't, because that's PROOF that that is proof!

I for one totally believe in Evilution...er, I mean Evolution! My mistake, I get them mixed up sometimes!

Don't close your eyes to it, the universe was started by a giant bomb! I swear!

[Honestly, I don't think it's our place to say who should be killed... even if they have committed a crime. Us humans are not wise enough to make that kind of decision...]

I agreed with you earlier, but not now. There is moral killing and immoral killing. Killing in self-defense is moral. Killing a murderer is moral. Pre-meditated killing of an innocent (murder) is immoral. God commands (flawed as we are) that we kill murderers. Allowing murderers to live cheapens life, is unloving and non-compassionate to the victim and any surviving family and friends.

I agree with (another fundie ranting about the books, all of his posts have been deleted), that's what old satan wants all the parents to think. Making everyone think it is helping their Children read just opens the door for Satan to move in. Haven't seen one of his movies or opened one of his books. Won't have one in my house. (From a second thread about FSTDT!)

You know, honestly, you have let them in your head when it affects what you say from now on.

I could care less if they quote me correctly or incorrectly(which they do all the time ) because everyone that reads their lame site already knows what they do with peoples words.

Really. Who cares? Stop going to their site, stop reading how they mock you. They matter not one iota in your real life now do they? They are cowards who would never have the cajoles to do this to your face, or anyones face. Pray for them? Sure. Care about how they have to twist your words to mock you? Pbbbbbbbbbbbbsssst

Keep being who you are, keep telling the truth, keep posting what is in your heart to post. They have NO power over you.

Petulant bored little bullies too scared of the truth or having their self centered world view challenged, that is all they are.

Quote# 43997

there is probably not one of here posting that considers themselves to be "religious" or to practice "Religion"; Relgiousness and religion to a born again Christian is a term that refers to us speaks of the pharisee - those who looked the part on the outside and had not a clue about God in reality... those who had faith in their traditions and rituals and even in their own ability to keep the Law and follow the rules and not faith in the Living God. So it is kind of insulting to call a born again Christian religious or Christianity a religion.

We believe that we are born again children of the Living God creator of heaven and earth and that we walk in a familial relatiohsip with HIM; we do not practice a religion.

[On the UU church shooting]

It's quite the opposite really. 99% of the school and church shootings were done by liberal atheists. Now that there has been the first shooting in a "liberal" church the liberal media is pointing the finger at right wing extremists (people) but when an atheist liberal goes on a shooting spree they point the finger at the guns and blame them instead of the left wing extremist (person) that was really responsible. Pretty slanted news reporting don’t you think?

Quote# 44006

[On a topic about how evolution is wrong.]

Well, yeah, evolutionism is simply a pagan religion. Indeed, even when we breed dogs for different jobs, they are weaker, in terms of survival, as compared to a silly mutt.

Mutation, when it occurs, is ALWAYS WEAKER, producing early death. Evolutionism creates the fiction that mutation sometimes creates a stronger line. This never happens.

The planet is dying, and it's not because of what we are doing, but because of what Adam and Eve did when they chose to follow Satan. Satan is the father of death; evolutionism is another one of his Orwellianisms.

Quote# 43994

In an era when birth control and abortion make childbearing completely optional, the number of out-of-wedlock births shows the contempt that many women have for marriage.

Yet most of these single mothers still demand that the man they chose not to marry before having sex with him provide financial support for them and their children -- while denying the man any of the rights and protections of marriage.

Men routinely discard wives and children to follow the nearly universal male biological desire for diversity in mating. Adultery is now openly expected of men, even if faithful wives deplore it.

With "gay marriage," the last shreds of meaning will be stripped away from marriage, with homosexuals finishing what faithless, selfish heterosexuals have begun.

(the whole article is like this, this is just a sample)
