Quote# 67011

Marge Simpson, mother in the Fox cartoon The Simpsons, is on the front cover of the November issue of Playboy magazine, which hits newsstands today. AFA believes that using an animated character on the cover of a pornographic magazine is deceptive and harmful because it will attract the attention of children and create the kind of curiosity that can easily lead them into an addictive porn habit. What do you say?

["The bible is not any more fact than Peter Pan."]

Firstly, archaeology proves the Bible to be true. Down to the smallest detail. Ignorance breeds wrong suppositions and assumptions. The Smithsonian Instutute even uses the Bible as a guide in identifying archaeological dig sites. Name me another religious text with that kind of authority.

[Re: The lifestyle of Ardipithecus ramidus]

According to Lovejoy, males pair-bonded or married females, showing traditional marriage is as old as 4 "million" years according to so-called evolutionary science. This finding supports the Biblical definition of marriage as being between a man and a women -- "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her"

Quote# 66993

The Bible sees the denial of God as the true delusion, and this delusion extends to the atheist’s view of humanity as “good,” all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding. A sober assessment of human beings recognizes that we lie, cheat, steal, lust, complain, become embittered and resentful, envy, hate, forget, and are careless, ruthless, disrespectful, and loveless. Not only do we do all these things on a daily and hourly basis, but we do them naturally from our birth. This is what God’s Word means when it says, “There is no one who does good” (Psalm 14:3). This does not mean we never do anything positive, like obeying our parents or giving money to a church or charity. It means that we are so obviously sinful that it is silly to call human beings “good.” Nobody teaches children to lie; they do it naturally. Nobody teaches teenage boys to lust; they do it naturally. Nobody teaches the employee to resent his boss or spread malicious gossip about the coworker with whom he is competing for a promotion; he does these things naturally. Nobody teaches the wife to unjustly criticize and complain about her husband, or the husband to neglect and condescend to his wife; both do these things naturally.

Quote# 66952

And this is what happens when public schools teach children that being intellectual is greater than actual truth. As long you sound intellectual, well theres 3/4 of the debate won, from there on out liberals can just lag down any real progress with semantics and hypotheticals.

A liberal will typically never concede any point, because to them finding the truth is not the reason they are debating. Instead, they debate to 'flex their intellectual muscle' if you will... truth to a liberal is merely an 'abstract'.

This is why 99/100 its pointless to debate liberals who 'think' they are intellectuals.

Creation is substantiated through facts (archaeology, science, history, the Bible), evolution is pure speculation and nothing more than a fairy-tale alternative to submitting to God.

Before you accuse me of not supporting myself, please review all my previous posts (in vain) concerning this issue.

Listen here Christians!

The only slightly tangible way to debate a liberal about God and creation is to sit them down with the Bible and let it do the talking. Now that being said, liberals cringe and reel at the thought of Gods Perfect Word. Why? It demands moral accountability, and according to the liberal religion of humanism, everything is relative.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/relativism

This ties right in with the concept of evolution,

If we all came from monkey's and not created by an almighty God then even the concept of right and wrong just comes down to a chemical reaction in the brain. Who is to say the chemical reactions in my brain that leads me to commit murder is wrong?! Or for that matter, any other moral truth...

If I ever debate a liberal, it's usually for the benifit of on-lookers, not in the hopes of actually changing my opponents mind.

Quote# 66991

Let's start with homosexuality.I don't know why homosexuality is wrong. But one thing I can say is that when God made man and woman, He made them to fit perfectly together. Think about this, when two people of the same sex come together, they do not fit perfectly, one has to take on the opposite role or use some form of substitution. When you have one man and one woman, no substitutions are necessary; there's a perfect fit, and only God can create such perfection.

Quote# 66990

It seems that people are saying that atheism is getting larger in America. But Atheism is a disease. Atheism is becoming more and more militant in their effort to deny God in the personal and public forum. This is a common tactic as was used by the homosexuals, feminists, and other anti-social groups looking to be normalized into mainstream society. These tactics are used mainly in America where they are protected and safe from retaliation. Or from behind a monitor, where they are hidden. They want no accountability to a higher power, or condemnation from fellow citizens so that they may live their life without the conscience that leads to feelings of remorse when they do things that go against our moral values. They aspire to support abortions, homosexuality, euthanasia. They are on the wrong side of most every issue that makes a country and society great.

It doesn't quite make sense to me why you would be opposed to teaching creationism in school, while simultaneously want to teach evolution. It's just as equally unfair to teach the population something that a portion don't believe in. You should probably be opposed to both being taught in school.?

[A review of They Might Be Giants' new children's album 'Here Comes Science']

I bought this CD+DVD for my son since he really loves the first several TMBGs kids albums No, ABCs and 123s. I own just about every TMBG album out there... I even bought Why does the Sun Shine when it was a new release... So I was very surprised to find out that this CD which claims "Science is Real" and even has a song "Put it To the Test" about the Scientific method has one very religious song and two with lots of religious undertones.

I can think of thousands of things you could make songs about with Science without dedicating three songs to fairy tales about Monkeys. How about volcanoes? Lightning? Why Is the Sky Blue? At least they thru in the song "Davey Crocket in Outer Space" to show everything on their DVD is not, in fact, "Real". Davey Crocket has more to do with being "Real" than track 6[*] which is all about TMBGs world view and their belief and faith in a bizarre and crazy theory that never has been observed, and can not be put to the test.

Anyway, beware if you buy this that TMBG will try to indoctrinate your children with wacko religious views, which they will get plenty of in high school and college. Better to steer clear of this one, and maybe pick up a CD about Peter and the Wolf... it is considerably more about real science than "Here comes Science".

[* Track 6 is a song titled 'My Brother The Ape']

I am not a religious person in any way, but evolution is a joke, just take a look at the fossil record. The fossil record is incomplete at best.

If you truly follow the fossil record instead of having anthropologists fill in the blanks with “theories” then you will realize that human beings essentially just appeared one day out of nowhere.

Do we come from apes? Of course not. Do we share 95-98 percent of our DNA with them? Sure. But we also share 90% of our DNA with a banana. Does that mean we evolved from bananas?

Quote# 66944

I do not think that creationism is actually science, because God, being omnipotent...etc, cannot be confined nor defined by science. He created science so science cannot "test" Him. I don't think scientists' views of what science is is wrong, but they sure are missing out on a lot by thinking the origin of the universe can be confined by experimental science!

On a different note, I have argued and debated with lots of evolutionists and I have come to the conclusion that evolution is stupid and anyone with half a brain and all the objective evidence in front of them denies the existance of some God is A) a liar, B) has some connections with Satan *ahem*, C) is very very dumb. But that's just my opinion!

*God Bless

Quote# 66972

The alternative to believing in God is believing that the universe spontaneously popped into existence 16 billion years ago, out of nothing, for no reason, and is held together by a magical substance called 'dark matter,' whose existence has never been proven, but which scientists insist must exist because their models of the universe don't work without it.

And, by the way, human life exists only because of a random series of accidents whose probability is approximately equal to the odds of hitting the Powerball every week for a thousand years.

The same scientists who recently had to revise their count of dinosaur species because they had counted juvenile, adolescent, and adult fossils from the same species as three distinct species. (Oopsie)

But remember, science is infallible. Religion is just kooky. (Love thy neighbor, what a load!)

The thing about Christianity is that done properly it requires discipline, self-control, generosity, and constant study. Obviously, it's easier to stand outside and throw stones at Christians than it is to actually gain an understanding of it.

Quote# 66942

My question is to resolve a debate between myself and another Bible studier. Could any of us be unknowingly walking around with Nephilim DNA and not know it? I don’t think so, but my friend disagrees…she is actually convinced that physically attractive, tall, well-built, intelligent people could be descendants of Nephilim. She has even suggested that my soon-to-be husband and myself are probably descended from Nephilim! Needless to say, this really freaks me out! I don’t want to worry that I have Nephilim DNA, or that my future husband may (we are both tall and athletically built and he is a handsome and mechanically brilliant man). Please, any insight at all would be tremendously helpful. I love my Jesus with all my heart and can’t bear the thought of being separated from God in eternity due to genetic circumstances beyond my control.

Quote# 66923

Umm... not close. First off, science doesn't prove ANYTHING. That's fact. Science once "proved" spontaneous generation, and look where we are now?
Here's a few facts...
-Evolution needs more links to be able to work
-In a very accurate measuring of salt water, it showed a young earth
-Evolution can't explain the great uncomformity
-Evolution's way of explaining the earth's magnetic field did not accurately estimate the fields of other planets but Creation's did wonderfully.
-Emotions are a contradiction to evolution. According to evolution, it's survival of the fittest. Then why does everyone have emotions? They only weaken a person.

Just to name a few. :)

I actually differ on this because of one main reason: nowhere in the Bible is marrying a cousin condemned, forbidden by GOD. So because of that, anything about genetic defects is void and something of the world's opinion, in my opinion.

A child can be born with problems no matter who you marry. When you have GOD's grace on you in Jesus Christ, nothing else matters. Its faith in Him, following Him and walking with Him that matters.

My parents were cousins when they got married. So were my grandparents and even one of my aunts/uncles. Grandparents had 12 kids. My aunt and uncle had 4. My parents had 3. Everyone born is blessed abundantly. No one had any genetic problems whatsoever.

To each their own of course. We must always seek Him first and we can do so by reading His word and praying on every matter.

I dont think there's too much to be confused about. The bible lays it out pretty simply lol

Day 1: God created everything
Day 6: God created human beings, Adam and Eve

Macro evolution could not have possibly happened over billions of years because in the Bible mankind appeared only *five days* after the entire universe was created.

I believe the Bible first and foremost.

"There is really ONLY one logical explanation for the origin of complex, functionally specified, digitized genetic information. GOD CREATED IT — in SIX DAYS when He created the universe. Any other explanation can be torn apart.

It really irks me to know that a lot of tax dollars are wasted in places like government universities on efforts to explain “the origins of life” and the nature of the universe. It’s all there in Genesis — NO CHARGE!

It’s not just evolution we need to take out of schools. We need to address the whole scientific culture that says that we must “seek answers” to questions that we already KNOW the answer to — and spend tax dollars to do it!"

Quote# 66960

As for the movie, Ghost, that movie I consider to be one of the most dangerous movies made. Its theology is based on the cult of Scientology. This is not speculation. Patrick Swayze confirmed this on the Johnny Carson show one night. Swayze was raised Catholic, but experimented with many religions. At the time of "Ghost" he was into Scientology.

The two notable points I remember about this film, is that those who were grabbed by demons and brought to hell were really bad guys. This relates to the false notion that if one is basically a good person they will go to heaven.

The most dangerous aspect of the film is in the last scenes. We see the light of heaven open up for Swayze to walk through. Before he does, he walks up to Whoopi Goldberg and tells her that her mother would be proud. Whoopi was suppose to be a "Christian psychic" (which is an oxymoron).

In terms of cinemtographic symbolism, we have Swayze on the "other side", so that means he knows things we do not. Then we see the light of heaven opened up to him and the light of God shining on him showing that he is approved of God. This man knows what we do not, he is almost representing God Himself.

Within this context we have Swayze approving and encouraging a so-called Christian psychic, diviner, and conjurer of the dead -- things that are an abomination to God.

The movie is made even more dangerous, especially to women, because it is "so romantic". I explained this to a group of women soon after the movie was released. They nearly tarred and feathered me even though I told them the Swayze himself said the theology in the movie was based on Scientology.

There is an old movie with Doris Day and Rock Hudson in which Doris conspires with her girlfriend to prove that a man will be so mesmerized by a woman's charms that she can feed him cardboard and he will eat it.

Well, you can feed a woman fresh cow pies as long as it is wrapped in romance, as we all see in the movies about shameful adultery like "Bridges of Madison County" (which, by the way, is about 2 hours away from where I live).

The movie Ghost is shear evil in that it depicts false theology and asserts that God approves of that the Bible says is an abomination to Him.

Quote# 66951

(From a page chock-full of pure fail)

Don't you think it's a bit odd that there are virtually NO Public debates between evolution-believing scientists and Creation scientists? And considering the fact that roughly half of all scientists (and 90 % of the public) believe in (either spontaneous or slow) Creation this is even more astounding.

What are evolution-believing scientists and the mass media so afraid of? In other words: IF the theory of evolution is anywhere near as sound as they (want us to) believe, then why not have some publicly televised debates on this issue?

And why are virtually all media "reporters" afraid to give Creationist Scientists ANY of their time? Are they simply afraid that the facts might upset their "faith" (or lack of it), or are they afraid that their liberal bosses and co-workers won't approve of what they might Discover: that is, IF they were to actually report on what they found? And that is a mighty BIG IF isn't it?
