Niger's military junta has enacted a new penal code that criminalizes homosexuality, as well as "intersex" and "asexual" practices, for the first time, with penalties of up to 20 years in prison. A judicial source reported this, citing the Niamey Official Gazette

According to the new Nigerien penal code, "anyone who commits or attempts to commit an indecent or unnatural act, or practices homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality, queerness, intersexuality, or asexuality (LGBTQIA+), maintains or attempts to maintain sexual relations with a person of the same sex, is punishable by imprisonment for five to less than ten years" and a fine of up to 100 million CFA francs (150 euros)," the text states. Other articles of the Nigerien penal code are even more severe, particularly those concerning "anyone who contracts marriage with a person of the same sex," a crime punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison. The same penalty is foreseen for "anyone who manages, directs, operates, finances, or participates in clubs, societies, organizations, or associations for homosexuals or LGBTQIA+ people"

Ultimately, for these people, the point is not to take money from really rich people (ostensibly to help the poor), no, that is incidental; the point is to hurt really rich people. As always, “to help the poor” is the cover story, many couldn’t actually care less about the well being of those they claim to fight for beyond what they offer as a political tool in the realm of realpolitik. There is no say-when point in $ where they will be appeased; a well reasoned new tax, a number of 0′s off Elon’s net worth, where they’ll say “oh yeah that’s actually fair, we’re good”. That point is not a dollar value or a percentage, it’s the point where their social media fueled class bloodlust against the capitalist feels quenched; Elon can’t just be a bit less wealthy on paper and that’s it, Elon must suffer in some way. The Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, is wowing skeptics after months of criticism from the radical left.
The Trump administration has continued to debunk criticisms of the Reflecting Pool restoration process. The establishment media has been one of the worst offenders, penning articles picking apart the shade of blue chosen for the bottom of the pool and more. The Washington Post ran to a “color consultant” who believes the shade will look “very dismal.” The New York Times also targeted the improvements made to the pool.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum pointed out that former President Obama’s administration closed the Reflecting Pool for two years, spending a whopping $38 million attempting to repair it, and yet did not do the job. President Trump’s fix is comprehensive and included draining the pool, sand blasting, repairing all of the pipes and bubblers, and restoring the color. The bottom of the pool, Burgum explained, had turned gray, and Trump chose American flag blue as the bottom color.
Images of the nearly finished Reflecting Pool are circulating on social media, and people like what they see so far.
“I’d heard so much about the newly renovated Reflection Pool, so I decided to come see it for myself. It’s absolutely beautiful.
