Quote# 75075

Phone calls from God still had some children in awe Thursday morning at St. Nicholas of Myra vacation bible school.

“He told me to fish for people,” 8-year-old Noelle Nunes said, “and tell everyone about him.”

“He told me to follow in his footsteps,” 7-year-old Jack Dubois said. “The phone call really surprised me. He didn’t say an awful lot, he just told me to follow him.”

Every child participating in this program received a call from God Wednesday as they took part in games, music and crafts all this week at the church’s vacation bible school.

Quote# 75070

In Hollywood movies like Jurassic Park we see creatures like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptors hunting us down and eating us alive. And no doubt, if humans and dinosaurs coexisted some of that certainly happened. But for the most part the opposite was true. We hunted them down and cooked them for dinner. In many of the legends and much of the ancient artwork that is exactly what we find—humans hunting down the giant reptiles and killing them. Lions and tigers and bears did not have it quite as bad as the dinosaurs (hence why they are still around). That is because our ancestors seemed particularly fixated on “slaying the dragon!”

So what happened to the dinosaurs? Apparently the ones that survived global climatic change got eaten by us. Some may still survive in remote areas of the world which have not yet come under our complete dominion, and there are hundreds of such sightings every year to this effect – especially from indigenous, primitive people groups in remote areas who speak to incredulous Western scientists (who naturally do not believe the natives because of their entrenched so-called “scientific” presuppositions. In our view, this is wrong. Science should be the impartial investigation of evidence without prejudice, not an arbitrary human effort to prop up flawed theoretical histories of the Earth).

Quote# 75079

[In a thread dedicated to listing reasons the 50s were better than 2010]

My Mom and her siblings use to have to go and select a branch off a tree to get spanked with. And my Mom carried over that tradition, except she kept a belt hanging on her door to beat the daylights out of us, and I mean beat, not spanked! Whipped I should say! And then, dared you to call CPS! 911! Anyone!

Kids could not sue parents then, but they can now! I think some parents are afraid of their kids today.....

Quote# 75063

If there is no God, then why are there Satan worshippers and the occult? That question is an interesting one indeed. I could understand a Christian doing what they doing because they are anticipating greener pastures when they die and go to heaven. But why would anyone be involved in the occult or Satan worship if their only future is in hell? I mean, the Satanists do believe in a Divine Creator. So why would they spend their lives making God mad by spiting Him in rebellion. I could understand someone not wanting to believe in God at all, but why worship the devil if you do believe in God? It just doesn't make any sense.

You Fail Logic Forever

I Do Not Think "Logic" Means What He Thinks It Means...

Quote# 75058

Here is a growing list of logical contradictions in atheism:

* Atheists say they do not believe that any God or equivalent deity exists, but then are often hostile to Christians, as in censoring classroom prayer even when everyone wants to participate.

* Atheist often state that god does not exist, however there is much biblical evidence (which is infallible) which attests to the opposite conclusion.

* Atheists believe that all truths can be derived via reason and deny the efficacy of revelation

Quote# 75050

[Re. the mosque being built a couple blocks from Ground Zero.]

NYC's appalling Mayor for Life Michael Bloomberg has taken this opportunity to preen himself on the "religious tolerance" patriots correctly perceive as dhimmitude at its most contemptible. The city's omnipotent bureaucracy has a zillion means of stopping any project. They are letting the mosque go through because, incredibly, they want it there. They want America's face rubbed in the ashes of its dead while Muslim maniacs ululate in triumph.

The establishment media also takes Islam's side. CBS dismisses this 13-story tribute to terrorism as a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it mosque."

If you had told me on 9/11/2001, as I watched my fellow New Yorkers stagger northwards from Ground Zero covered in dust partially composed of other Americans who had just been murdered in the name of Islam, that city bureaucrats would approve this absolutely intolerable outrage, I would have moved away in disgust much sooner — unless my head had exploded on the spot.

It's impossible to believe that all New Yorkers are eager to lick the shoes of Islamofascists in the name of political correctness, but their liberal "representatives" certainly are.

Jihad for Jesus

YHWH demands blood!

Quote# 75045

[Neal Horsley, t]he creator of the Nuremberg Files[,] also says that terrorism is sanctioned by the Bible.

In his list of "Aborted Doctors", he refers to the names of the people who killed these doctors as "terrorists". Because his site has been pulled down so many times, he says he copied the list from a pro-choice sight, and claims that he has listed the names, somewhat disingenuously, to show the "victims of legalized abortion." So we ask if he would call their killers terrorists.

"Yeah. I call Paul Hill a terrorist," Horsley says. "The Bible says that ministers of government was given the sword of terror for those who has done wrong. The idea that someone uses terror to enforce the law is a Biblical concept, and I’ve never hesitated calling all people involved in terrorism for anti-abortion causes terrorists." He says those people would object, but it's BS. He's going to use whatever terms allow him to speak the truth.

Is he saying terrorism is sanctioned by the Bible? He gives an emphatic yes and refers us to Romans 13 that claims gives ministers of government the sword of terror to stop law breakers. "As Paul says, government is not made for righteous people...the law of God is not made for righteous people, it’s made for law breakers." Somehow, I get the feeling that those who deserve the sword of terror are not the "good Christians", but "law breakers" like you and me, who follow the laws of the US, but not the laws of God. "All the people on the Nuremberg list were law breakers. George Bush is on there. If I was consistent, I would put my name up there, because I’m just as much a collaborator with this nation as everybody else is, I’m just contesting it."

Homosexuality will never be on equal footing with straight relationships. For one, straight relationships are healthy, and normal, and produce offspring -- gay relationships are unhealthy [AIDS], abnormal [ two different sexes exist for a reason, including the different sexual body parts, etc..] and they can never produce an offspring -- because two people of the same sex are not supposed to have sex.

What's so great about having a partner that has the exact same body parts as you?

The Fear Monger of the Month Award

Quote# 75007

The Internet is a large-scale version of the "Committees of Correspondence" that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington's failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.

[...]

Bill Clinton lowered the culture, moral tone and strength of the nation — and left America vulnerable to attack. When it came, George W. Bush stood up for America, albeit sometimes clumsily.

Barack Obama, however, has pulled off the ultimate switcheroo: He's diminishing America from within — so far, successfully.

He may soon bankrupt us and replace our big merit-based capitalist economy with a small government-directed one of his own design.

He is undermining our constitutional traditions: The rule of law and our Anglo-Saxon concepts of private property hang in the balance. Obama may be the most "consequential" president ever.

The Wall Street Journal's steadfast Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote that Barack Obama is "an alien in the White House."

[...]

Opinion polls suggest that in the November mid-term elections, voters will replace the present Democratic majority in Congress with opposition Republicans — but that will not necessarily stop Obama.

Quote# 75006

[re: whether Jesus' instant healing power contradicts the theory of relativity]

Frank, perhaps what you mean is that you don't want the logic of the Bible to be used to evaluate claims by scientists. If so, I completely disagree. And so would Isaac Newton and most great scientists.

As our Conservative Bible Translation project is revealing, Jesus said his works were not miracles, but signs. So any definition of miracle by Hume (who, by the way, leaned toward atheistic rather than Christianity) is not terribly helpful

Quote# 74989

Fundamentalist Christians are hijacking Religious Instruction (RI) classes in Queensland despite education experts saying Creationism and attempts to convert children to Christianity have no place in state schools.

Students have been told Noah collected dinosaur eggs to bring on the Ark, and Adam and Eve were not eaten by dinosaurs because they were under a protective spell.

Critics are calling for the RI program to be scrapped after claims emerged Christian lay people are feeding children misinformation.

About 80 per cent of children at state primary schools attend one half-hour instruction a week, open to any interested lay person to conduct.

...A parent of a Year 5 student on the Sunshine Coast said his daughter was ostracised to the library after arguing with her scripture teacher about DNA.

"The scripture teacher told the class that all people were descended from Adam and Eve," he said.

"My daughter rightly pointed out, as I had been teaching her about DNA and science, that 'wouldn't they all be inbred'?

"But the teacher replied that DNA wasn't invented then."

[re: working with a homosexual]

What we are seeing more and more is that homosexuals are not seeking "equal rights" in society and the work place, they are seeking "special rights" in society and the work place.

Consider for a brief moment what would be the plight of a Christian who acts in the manner this homosexual is acting. How long would would a Christian be allowed to keep his/her job if they openly witnessed their Christian faith to everyone in the workplace?

Quote# 74959

HAHAHAHA! Jesus' comments on abortion?! How pathetic!!! Do you really think the SON of GOD would support Roe. vs. Wade's decision?!! Hahaha. I pray to God that those who support such a heinous practice burn in HELL. You will. I promise. Christianity is the one and only true religion. Any one who destroys human life to ensure that minorities in the U.S. can potentially live "prosperous" lives will pay for their sins. I have known woman who have had multiple abortions. I told them right to their face that they will BURN IN HELL. There are some lines that a man should not be willing to be cross. If you are willing to kill for wealth, then you will never find any kind of prosperity because God will curse you.

Quote# 74956

Liberal logic is an argument that has logical appeal to a liberal, but is nonsensical. Let's build a list:

* an atheistic culture cannot harm anyone, but saying a prayer in class can cause tremendous harm
* increasing spending by government must reduce poverty (no, dependency increases poverty)
* teaching abstinence must not reduce premarital sex
* widespread ownership of the largely defensive weapon of gun must not reduce crime
* that lack of government programs to rehabilitate criminals must not reduce crime
* that increasing taxes must increase government revenue (no, often people work less)

Quote# 74953

Evolution is being taught in all our Public Schools, deliberately rejecting and depriving children of the knowledge of God. Children are no longer educated; but rather, indoctrinated in public schools. America is NOT LISTENING TO GOD! We have deliberately rejected the knowledge of God, just as Hosea 4:6 teaches. Americans are wicked more than foolish. Americans are wicked more than ignorant. It is our nation's love for sin that has caused us to be foolish, ignorant and complacent. First and foremost, Americans are sinful and wicked.

The Old Testament Jews were destroyed for lack of knowledge, knowledge which they openly refused to have. They chose to remain ignorant. They didn't want to hear the truth. Nothing has changed in thousands of years. People don't want the truth nowadays. People are willfully ignorant of the truth. Most people reject knowledge.

Quote# 74944

Drinking blood was an important part of pagan rituals during the era the books of the Bible were written in. In fact, it remains so today. This is why God insists we abstain from drinking blood, it is a form of idol, false god and satanic worship. Eating meat and drinking blood cannot be compared, don't twist Scripture to try to justify your argument. People eat meat for sustenance, people drink blood as part of devil worship.

Please do not assume that because something is not specifically prohibited in the NT that it is OK. If the authors of the Bible had to write down every specific sin not to commit, the Bible would be a hundred times longer than it is. Surely we can read the Bible and understand the intent without being spoon-fed an entire list of things we shouldn't do. I don't recall reading in the Bible that it's prohibited to run naked through an elementary school full of kids, so it's OK, right? No. That's why we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, to guide us. If you think that drinking human blood (or any other act) is inherently wrong, it is not your humanity that is saying that, it is the HS guiding you. People who think such things are OK do not have the HS guiding them.

Quote# 74940

Atheists, why do you say prayer logically makes no sense if God is supposed to be loving?

Here is what one of you recently said to a Christian who said that God had a plan for her:

"God wants you to be happy but he says no to a child who prays for his dad to stop raping him? Some ego you have there."

Okay, it is not morally right for God to stop this because he has to allow free will. If he stopped every parent from raping children, the world would be destroyed because there would be NO free will and every one would be robots and we would be FORCED to do good.

God CANNOT intervene for the greater good.

Do you understand?
