I think I heard that Darwin renounced the theory of evolution on his death bed. Of course people would rather discount that than believe in God.

1. That was a lie, perpetrated by a Christian trying to discredit evolutionary theory. Didn't God (or somebody like that) supposedly say something about lying being a bad thing?
2. Even if Darwin had done this, any such dementia would not have any bearing on the validity of his perfectly cogent theory of evolution by natural selection, which has only been supported by additional evidence ever since then.

First, you heard a lie.
Second, even if he did, it's been proven time and again by scientists. Remember, back in the Dark Ages, many people renounced heathen theories such as geocentricism and round earth theories in light of religious persecution.
Yes, that's a lie. But even if it were true, Darwin wasn't some kind of prophet who can recount his words. Anyone (in theory) can think up evolution themselves, since it is very logical.
"I think I heard..."
...the Lady Hope bullshit.
Doesn't matter anyway. The man's dead, but the Theory is stronger than ever.
“I think I heard”
And you have Google right there, huh? Did you even try to find any support for this hazy idea?
“that Darwin renounced the theory of evolution on his death bed.”
First off, who cares? The science not only stood up under scrutiny, it’s actually been expanded since his work. Way beyond his work. He could reject his own life’s work until foaming at the mouth and we’d still have the ToE.
Second, this is an effort at propaganda. IMMEDIATELY shut down by his wife and daughter.
“Of course people would rather discount that than believe in God.”
Evolution has nothing to do with a belief in God. It’s science, which is all neutral on gods existing.
Confused?
