[On gay marriage in California]
This is going to muck up the definition of marriage to such an extent that the government will have no choice but to outlaw ALL marriages.

I understand that fundies get confused... I mean, first marriage was between a white man and a white woman, and then white and black people can marry, and now adult people of the same gender can marry? Must be awfully hard for their limited understanding abilities... yeah.
Oh, make up your tiny little minds. First it's just going to destroy marriage, without anyone's help; then it's going to let people marry goats, babies and palm trees; now it'll make the guv'mint outlaw all marriage? Do you clowns really have no attention span and no memory?
Shitheads.
The government's not that stupid.
It's like this:
Are you both human?
Are you both over 18?
Are there exactly two of you, not counting fetuses?
If you answered 'no' to any of the above questions, you CANNOT get married.
The government will have no choice but to outlaw ALL marriages.
And then, only outlaws will be married!
fine by me, not that it will actually happen
@ anonymous_troy - I don't think that 3rd stipulation is sooo important, if someone want to live a polygamist/polyandrous lifestyle, I say let them
So, is this supposed to happen before or after the Atheists round up all the Christians and put them in concentration camps? Because I keep hearing about that one too, but nobody sends me the event schedule so I can request Paid Time Off.
This is going to muck up the definition of marriage...
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/marriage
...2): the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage <same-sex marriage>
Merriam-Webster disagrees.
No they won't.
Not that I'd care if they did.
EDIT: Actually, I would care. When I wrote it, I was thinking about what a ridiculous concept marriage is, not about the aspect of the government curtailing people's freedoms.
Damn you, tracer! I'm trying to eat, here!
I've really gotta stop doing that when I come in here.
My parents were visiting my paternal grandparents, at the same time as Dad's older sister and her family were up from out of state. They sat down to play bridge, and Mom got partnered with Uncle Bitch-whipped They cleared the table, and Mom piped up, "Well, D., I guess the outlaws won!" She immediately had to grab my father and beg for safety, because Aunt Bitch tried going over the table at her.
So that's why the outlaws/inlaws thing makes me laugh. Nice on, tracer.
Well, that makes sense.
Dumbass.
Let me repeat it again for you, but slowly so your fundie hindbrain can digest it:
It is only the power structure you are used to that claimed the monopoly on marriage. You never really had it, all that happened was privileged people suppressed anything other than the hetero standard to maintain the power structure to which they were accustomed. Now their power is failing and slowly everybody is gaining the equality they had previously been denied.
Do you understand now?
Isn't marriage supposed to be about love anyway? not to populate the earth, like most Christians think is why we have marriage. Their are already too many people. And Because I don't want to marry someone I don't love just to be a baby factory for him.
If I plan on getting married, which I'm not. for the reasons above.
To outlaw marriages, well that would be good for those abused women stuck in unhappy marriages to people they don't love, and then they would be free. Of course then the fundies would complain about that as well...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
