[On news that Willie Nelson is singing at a Wendy Davis fundraiser]
Doper, homosexualist and now abortionist sum up the life and times of one Willie Nelson. He may be a native Texan but doesn't share Texas values, the most important of which is the right to life.
Interesting that a Yankee transplant, drug-free Patriot Ted Nugent, embodies more of what Texas is all about than one of her native sons.

You shouldn't talk like you represent the entirety of 'Texas values.' You certainly don't represent me, nor do you apparently represent the throngs of native Texans who support Wendy Davis.
I'm beyond tired of folks like you reflecting poorly on what could be a half-decent state. JFC.
Ted Nugent; the perfect Texan.
George W. Bush; the perfect Texan.
Why can't Texas raise their own?

Monk enters Willie's bus...
Monk: "What's that funny smell?"
Willie: "I don't smell anything, and neither do you."
(I love those guys.)
If Ted Nugent embodies what Texas is about, then please let's let Texas to secede and build a huge wall around it. Seriously.
Ted Nugent... the guy who adopted his underage girlfriend so he could have sex with her. The guy who shit his pants so he could get out of going to Vietnam. The guy who's openly racist and threatened the president to the point where he got a visit from the guys in suits and sunglasses. The guy who loves to kill animals for fun.
Yep, let's not only allow Texas to secede, let's force them to.
So we've gone from "No true Christian" to "No true Texan."
Either way, it ain't an argument, it's just prejudice.
As far as I understand Nugent has never did drugs, never fell into the drug and alcohol problems that many other music stars fell in to. That could be a lie but I would at least respect him for that if it's true. Of course that's the only thing I would respect him for. As the man has done other things that are so not worth it. Sure he might not have been into drugs but he loved the women so he's clearly not THAT pure.
Anyway as for Texas. Give America Austen and the rest of Texas can go do what ever the hell it wants. But at least leave the states one sane Haven out of it.
My mom was a neighbor of Willie's in Dripping Springs, Texas back in the early 70's ((In that she lived about half a mile down the road from him with no other houses in-between)). She would occasionally run into him in town and he would always say hi and sometimes they'd even have great political conversations. But she said he never seemed like his rural upbringing or Texan background was just a mask or an act, "He was a very genuine, but incredibly intelligent country boy." Those were her words. The man is the very image of a progressive, is not only wealthy and successful but is well respected. Meanwhile, Ted Nugent shit in diapers to avoid the draft, acts like a moron, lies and treats people like dirt. And yet you think NUGENT embodies the Texan spirit?
Drug-free?
So meth isn't a drug. And shitting your pants like Ted Nugget (of shit) is the most patriotic thing you can do.
Damn it, all these years I was LIED to! [/infinite sarcasm]
@Anon-e-moose
Now he's a painter, painting the many people he met. And what do you know, his paintings are actually not half bad! For once, t3h Dumbya has finally found something he's pretty good at! Must be all the New Haven, CT remaining in him from when he was born :3
Oh yes, Ted Nugent, that great rock musician with numerous hits like Cat Scratch Fever, and uh... a few other songs.
Ugh. If you believe that the wretched, scum-secreting Ted Nugent embodies your state's values you have one fucked up state. And also one fucked up notion of what values are.
And what did Willie Nelson ever do to anyone? Being a liberal activist and promoting environmentalism doesn't make one a bad person.

As an aside, I always imagine the Rapture Ready crowd posting from trailer parks just outside Kickapoo, Texas.
"the most important of which is the right to life".
You're serious? You value anti-abortion more than you're often whined about guns? More than you're constantly brought up freedom of speech? More than you're right to practice religion, or right to a fair trial?
What the fuck is wrong with you dude?!
Whew! What a relief! Here I thought all these threats of Texas seceding from the Union might provoke violence, but if Nugent is your idol, then we have nothing to worry about. Your native sons will shit their pants and that'll be the end of it.
"Yankee transplant, drug-free Patriot Ted Nugent, embodies more of what Texas is all about"
Texas: it's all about racism, crapping your pants to get out of Vietnam, and underage girls!
Please secede, Texas. Please.
Confused?
