Greece and Rome fell for a number of reasons, but a primary one was increasing hedonism and homosexuality.
What I am saying is that Israel's acceptance of this debauchery without any real pushback by rabbis and traditionalists marks what can be sadly but definitely regarded as the beginning of the end, or: the Decline and Fall of Modern Israel.

Rome fell because they overextended themselves while simultaneously shortchanging their armies. The constant internal squabbling of the would-be emperors didn't help much, either. You can't do that when you've spent centuries pissing off your neighbors.
How curious that this coincides with the adoption of Christianity and dismissal of their old gods.

By the time of it's fall, Rome was very much Christian.
Greece didn't exist as an independent state until about 1830. So which 'Greece' are we talking about, the Mycenaean, the Athenian, maybe the Macedonian, or are you talking about the Delian league set up to defend a number (not all) Greek city states against the Persians. Greece was a number of City states not one nation, so it never really fell yes it was absorbed into the Macedonian empire and then the Roman and later the Ottoman Empire but except for a brief occupation by the Nazis in the 40's it hasn't fallen. Besides it's not hedonism and homosexuality they need to be careful of, it's their economy and crippling debt.
Rome was Christian by the time it fell and far from hedonistic. And, as Whiteylad says, where is this state of "Greece" of which you speak? And if you think rabbis and traditionalists haven't been making a fuss about gays, then you don't pay much attention to modern Israel. Or, more likely, you've been paying too much attention to televangelists and traditionalists in the modern United States.

It couldn't have anything to do with bulldozing Palestinian homes.
Rome fell due to a diseconomy of scale and lack of reliable long-distance communication (well, the western Roman Empire, at any rate). Classical Greek culture (broad, broad term, I know) didn't so much fall as get absorbed.
Debauchery and apathy among the ruling class are damaging to a society, true, but I doubt that is what anyone making this sort of argument refers to.

Uh, no. Pretty sure it wasn't. Especially since the Roman Empire became Christian shortly before its end.
Epic fail.

A classic statement that makes the speaker appear smart and educated, but actually dumber than most.
Homosexuality was always a part of Ancient Greece from Homer onwards, and Rome in its last days sure didn't like homosexuals, pagans, or anyone not a Christian.

Maybe if Muslim fundamentalists take over Israel you'll finally have your gay-free country.
I know of very few events that aren't the beginning of the end from someone's perspective.
"Sorry, sir, we're out of strawberry ice cream."
"Out? Ohmygoditsthebeginningoftheend."
Confused?
