[After a 'miraculous' cancer recovery was debunked]

These miracles go through an extremely strict validation process by the Church. Sometimes it takes centuries to be sure of their validity. And only after that is done, can the person become a Saint.

If the Church has approved this miracle, then it has passed all the tests. I take their word for it over any secular news report.

In nullius verba.

In case you haven't been paying attention the church itself has discounted some of the miracles they once proclaimed.

You can bet it wasn't THEIR research that led to those, it's was their inability to dispute some connected facts or testimonies that have come to light that they didn't get their hands on first. There's been at least one case of Vatican owned testimonies leaked out.

He might just be talking about American faith-healer scams. Not even one case documented as true, many completely made up and posted to sites like Christian Forums. You people thank God after after firefighters or a surgeon saves someones life.

You people thank God after after firefighters or a surgeon saves someones life.

In the movie, The Great Ball of Fire, when Jerry Lee Lewis gives a new car to his down-and-out cousin, Jimmy Swaggart, and Jimmy says "Thank Jeezus!", Lewis says, "Well, don't thank Jesus, cousin...thank Jerry Lee."
I love that line.

I think you meant "Great Balls of Fire" -- like in Jerry Lee Lewis's best-known song.

You need to be careful with your facts on a site like this; otherwise people might think you're as 'nutty' as that other Jerry Lewis feller.

"Sometimes it takes centuries to be sure of their validity"

Not much of a miracle if it takes centuries to know if it is one.

Lee

Sometimes it takes centuries for the truth and any evidence of it to disappear.
