On Tuesday, he released a three-step plan on how, if he became president, he would defend those who support traditional marriage. The plan includes:
• Signing religious liberty executive orders. The executive orders would protect businesses, churches, universities and other entities from discrimination or civil or criminal penalties for exercising their religious beliefs in support of traditional marriage, according to the release by Huckabee's campaign.
• Prosecuting hate crimes against people of faith. The release said that Huckabee, if elected president, would direct the U.S. Attorney General to prosecute as hate crimes groups or individuals who discriminated or attacked individuals, businesses, religious organizations and others for their religious beliefs about marriage.
• Defending people of faith in the U.S. military. Huckabee would direct the Secretary of Defense to support military chaplains and "not force them to participate in ceremonies they find objectionable on religious grounds," the release said.

*invents religion where the main tenet of faith is that huckabee must be silent at all times.*
every time he speaks, he gets prosecuted for hate crimes.
Undo all the progress made in the last couple decades or so and ignore that whole "separation of church and state" thing so Christians can refuse service to gays, blacks, Latinos, Asians, Jews, Muslims, or any other denomination of their own religion they've determined is actually a Satanic cult, for whatever reason they please so long as they claim it's religious.
Jail anyone and everyone who refuses to tolerate their intolerance, because apparently hate crimes only count when it's a Christian not being allowed to commit one.
Let Christians in the military fuck off and do whatever they want if doing what they're trained and paid to do involves interacting with a squadmate who isn't another white Christian.
And I can fucking guarantee you that when this asshat fails to be elected (even if he'll only lose by a depressingly-slim margin), he'll be claiming it's because of sex offenders (read: gays) and spree-killers (read: anyone who tolerates gays) who hate the Constitution.

You know how this can be achieved? By having Chaplains of different faiths and faithless ones. Something I bet the huckster is agianst.
Donald "Brillo Hair" Trump has more chance of being president than this guy.
On a broader not. Why is it that just about all the prospective GOP candidates appear to think being elected president means you can do just about anything you want?
^ Prolly because of the ability to pass/veto laws, executive orders and UN representation, despite the checks in balences in play that prevents idiots like them from creating the Theocratic States of America (Most obvious is the Constitution)
Read between the lines:

Taking us back to the 1950's by instating Jim Crow-type laws.

Enacting blasphemy laws.

Increasing evangelism in the U.S. military.
Not one of these would "defend those who support traditional marriage" and are designed to increase and support religion in society and government.
@Frank

Because for the past 7 years they've been accusing Obama of doing whatever he wants (which is always bad, because it's Obama).
"how, if he became president, he would defend those who support traditional marriage"
'If. ' [/Spartan Laconic Wit]
...and your plan falls flat on it's face from Step 0, and straight into the Abyss of FAIL.
Moral: If Roe vs. Wade hasn't been repealed in all the 42 years since Tricky Dicky was prez, and all Repubican administrations haven't bothered with such, right up to 2008 Dumbya - and Prohibition was an Amendment in the Constitution; look how long that lasted - then good luck, Mike Fuckabee. Remember: Romans 13:1-5, bitches.
Meanwhile, cry more. Your tears. So soul-nourishing. They fuel our superiority to you inferior subhuman right-wing fundie Christains. >:D
Quite apart from this lasting a very short time before the courts throw it out as unconstitutional, we're still a long way from Iowa and New Hampshire - at this point four years ago, Michele Bachmann was riding high and Obama was down 8 points to a generic Republican challenger.
Signing religious liberty executive orders.
First Amendment says different Mikey
Prosecuting hate crimes against people of faith
Which faith Mikey? I mean if someone vandalizes my car because I follow Odin, does that mean that it's a hate crime against me and that I can file charges as such?
Defending people of faith in the U.S. military. Huckabee would direct the Secretary of Defense to support military chaplains and "not force them to participate in ceremonies they find objectionable on religious grounds," the release said.
Um...isn't that kind of what goes on now? I mean if I was in the military and wanted a catholic priest to marry me, wouldn't he have the right to say no?
@ Frank
And more ridiculous, when Obama does anything legally by executive order, it's "tyranny" and abuse of power for which they demand impeachment.
@ Hasan Prishtina
Thank you for calming me down. Trump's poll numbers are making me nervous.
So, in other words, you're going to try and be a Christian dictator and force everyone else to abide by your religion.
I love the part where Christians get to discriminate against gays but no one can even criticize Christians.
"groups or individuals who discriminated or attacked individuals, businesses, religious organizations and others for their religious beliefs about marriage. "
So since I refuse to patronize Chic-fil-A, I'll have to turn myself in as a criminal.
Confused?
