The 11th of September is the date of the great BATTLE OF VIENNA, in which our Blessed Lady blessed the Most Catholic King of Poland, John Sobieski III, and enabled him to smite the Saracen Hordes. By driving them back from Vienna they saved once and for all time the One, Holy, Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church from utter destruction and ruin.
Dick Cheney is no Sobieski. He is a united methodist, a heresy of a heresy, a break-off of the so-called ‘church’ of England.
Therefore, Our Blessed Lord withheld grace from the heretic Cheney, withdrawing the veil of protection and allowing the Saracens to strike the United States.

If Dick Cheney's not a wingnut enough for ya, then you have issues.
Even Jesus, Mother Mary and every Catholic Saint facepalms at your stupidity!
And what's this Battle of Vienna and what the heck does it have to do with Tricky Dick The Sequel?
Couldn't you pick something better-known? My American Social Studies/World History classes weren't too comprehensive.
Really? All that set up just to say one sect of your cult is not the right one?
I mean, I was hoping we'd at least get some reptilians or the illuminati choosing the pope or Bohemian Grove deciding to open a portal to the next dimension with CERN and chemtrails, but then again this isn't CTSTDT.
You don't live in 1450. The mainly Muslim, but partly Orthodox Christian, army at the Battle of Vienna was Ottoman. There were also parts of Catholic Europe, such as Hungary and Croatia, which remained under Ottoman rule which didn't fall into utter destruction and ruin. Somehow your god's mother didn't seem as bothered then.
@Spuki,
Dick Cheney may be solidly conservative, but he's not devoutly religious to my knowledge. In fact, a lot of neoconservative intellectuals are non religious despite viewing religion as useful for keeping order. Leo Strauss, for example.
What was the King of Poland doing in Vienna? Oh, defending the Pope against the Turks.
Why didn't the Blessed Lady bless the Lithuanian army too, then they would probably have driven away the "Saracen" hordes even faster.
This Sobieski seems to have been a fairly decent monarch, educated and literate, and a patron of science and arts, a good strategist. But that blessing from Our Lady obviously didn't cover "family values"; eight of his twelve children were stillborn or died before the age of five. Only two children had children of their own.
I'd say that Reagan and the Bush's withdrew the "veil of protection" when they aided and abetted Saudi Arabia and the Talibans against their enemies. Almost all the 9/11 attackers were from Saudi Arabia, the only country in the region that the US has never invaded, I believe.
Why did God allow the 'Saracens' to target trains in Madrid in 2004 then? Obviously God was punishing catholic Spain for not following the right branch of Christianity. Or, since the terrorists in both cases were Muslim, perhaps it's a sign that Islam is the true faith that God wants you to follow.

...David J. Stewart, is that you?!
...oh, and Newsflash: The current Vice President, Joe Biden, is a Catholic .
Now go back to bed, Aggie.
Somehow I think the Catholic Church would have struggled on even after losing Vienna. You know who else helped save Vienna and much of Europe from the Turks? The very gay Prince Eugene of Savoy, not just in 1683, but repeatedly.
The Fifteenth of June was THE GREAT BATTLE OVER THE VIENNA SAUSAGES at Biff's Butcher Shop & Deli in which Elmer Fudd McCurdy & Marge Schtroumpf fought over who was going to get the last half pound of the little meaty morsels in question!!!
Biff, naturally had to get the Police involved....it was quite a brawl.
@Nemo
I see. Well, I support the reviling of Cheney...but not for the reasons the OP states.
Confused?
