You are demonstrating the very point I was going to move to on that subject: the superiority of the Bible account. It lacks the mythical embellishments of many other flood legends.
I'm sure you realize many of these flood legends add embellishments which are totally unscientific. This is one of the ways the Bible account is unique.

Big deal! Fighting over whose mythical story is less detailed, does that sound clever to you?
Show me one thing in the Bible that is truly unique, that is not mentioned at all in any other mythical text.
Uhm...flooding the Earth to the highest mountains, after Noah gathers 2 of each animal and 7 of each clean, in a boat made by one man and his sons to hold all of them, which only had one window in it...yeah, no embellishment there.
Well, the flood account of the bible is "scientific"? Lets see:
- Only 8 people caring for all these animals (we have millions of different species)? In comparison, the San Diego Zoo (one of the biggest zoos in the world) has 'only' 5000 species on display, and staff of 500 personnel, of those the majority is occupied with animal care. And they have modern technology which makes animal care a lot more easier...
- There is a certain upper limit for a wooden ship. To build bigger ships than this limit, you need steel. The ark as a wooden vessel would survive only in extremely calm water. The slightest currents would tear it apart. In the class 5++ hurricane of the biblical flood, the ark would have been destroyed in less than a microsecond.
- You cannot completely water-seal a wooden ship. The big wooden warships of the 16/17th century were chronically leaking. They required constant pumping to keep them afloat. Noah's family would have been busy 24 hours with pumping alone. No time left to take care for the millions of animals...
- And a very amusing absurdity: Noah water-proofed the ark using tar pitch as of the bible. Now some of our literalist fundies try to tell us that all crude oil components like tar pitch came into existence during the flood , when the decomposing bodies of all drowned life formed the oil deposits!
And these are only 4 of more than 140 blatant absurdities in the flood legend of the bible.
Unique only in that it's way more impossible. It's the most impossible series of things I've ever heard of. Spidermans first five issues aren't so full of impossible. It makes Peter Pan seem likely
I'll give these jerks the Exodus AND Jesus tales over the Noachian flood, theres only about 20 impossible things in those two.
Most of those flood legends are older than the Bible's, and the Bible one resembles many of them. What does that tell you of the science of the Bible one? It's certainly not unique, in any way...
The most prominent embellishment is probably "the whole world" theme. No-one at that time knew the Whole World anyway, they only knew the parts they could get to within a year's horse-ride. If all of the countries around the Mediterranean was flooded, they would think about that as a World-wide Flood, right?
The Epic of Gilgamesh: the only way that the account differs much in the exaggeration department is that the ship is bigger, humans turn to clay, the Noah and his wife of that story become immortal as a reward, it describes the land "shattering like a pot", and the fact that there were multiple gods. However, for the lulz: "When Enlil arrived, he saw the boat and became furious at the Igigi gods. He said "Where did a living being escape? No man was to survive the annihilation!"
Ninurta spoke to Enlil saying "Who else but Ea could do such a thing? It is Ea who knew all of our plans."Ea spoke to Enlil saying "It was you, the Sage of the Gods. How could you bring about a flood without consideration?"
Ea then accuses Enlil of sending a disproportionate punishment, and reminds him of the need for compassion."
If only Bible God had someone to tell him when he's being a douche.
Of course, the same tale has rains only lasting for 7 days to Bibble's 40, has The Noah Figure only getting animals from the surrounding area (and not from everywhere), and he had craftsmen help him build the boat. It's about as mythically embellished as the Noah's Ark story, you sad, sorry little thing.
Mythical embellishments like these?
1) A 900 year old man building a boat by himself before boats were invented.
2) Eight people creating a new populations of humans that isn't inbred as a family reunion in a survival compound in December 2012.
3) The boat being big enough to hold two (or fourteen) animals of each species, along with food for all of them for 40 (or 157) days?
4) The boat not smelling like a urinal cake at an asparagus convention.
5) Water appearing out of nowhere and going back there as well.
Confused?
