Doesn't it make you a little nervous that the God/Jesus of the Bible in which you don't beleive in, can't be disproved?
At one time the wisest men on earth believed the earth was flat, the sun rotated around the earth, the atom couldn't be split and on and on.
If I'm wrong, I just die and never know if I'm wrong. If you're wrong...well, lets just say, bring a fan.

I don't get this...First, he talks about disproving God, then outdated science, then fans? I'm so confused...
It's pascal's wager y'all!
To be fair, there isn't really anything particularly "fundie" about this post, except maybe for the fact that it is from the POD Warrior Forum, which is a haven for adolescent fundies. This seems more like a lousy attempt at apologetics.
Ah. Faulty logic. If I'm wrong, then either your god's a fucktard who doesn't deserve my faith, or I will be rewarded for not being amoral on earth without devoting myself blindly to a religion. If you're wrong, large amounts of your life will be wasted to a false cause, and wars will be fought and people will die over false beliefs.
And the kicker is that all signs point towards biblical deism being wrong. Something about all the contradictions.
Or how about, if I'm wrong, I suffer needlessly. If you're wrong, millions of people suffer needlessly.

What's your point?
Discarding beliefs in the light of new evidence is wise indeed. Unlike today's fundies who don't seem willing to go through the same change.

Not really. Most assertions can’t be disproved. Only proven. That’s the way logic works.

So what you're saying is, because archaic thought has turned out to be wrong, we should indulge in ancient religions.
You didn't really think this through, did you?

- No, because the exact same thing could be said for every god humanity has invented. Personally, I'd be much more nervous about the existence of the Greek gods: they made no pretense of benevolence or parental feelings for humanity.

- Yes, and science proved them wrong. That's why I regard science as superior to religion as a way of obtaining and evaluating information about the universe.

- So you follow god out of cowardice...and you think said god is pleased by this. Your god is a bully and its followers are miserable toadies. I cannot respect either bullies or their bootlickers.
If you're wrong, you wasted your life, and given the myriad gods described by all of humanity, there's a pretty good chance that you're wrong.
Confused?
