Sometimes it is our duty to do something practical. So it is not I who will tell all Christians what to do but some know legal means which can be taken in order to get the other person to respect the rights of others. This is one of the fundamental human rights: that we should be respected, our religious beliefs respected, and our founder Jesus Christ respected.

You have a right to be tolerated. On the other hand, WE have a right to freedom of speech and the press, even if what we say offends you. Your right to be tolerated requires us to refrain from violence or threats against you, but we are not obligated to respect your delusions, tolerate the censorship you wish to impose, or share your whacko views. In fact, if we disagree with you and think you're completely crazy, we have the right to tell it to your face.
Great, let's strive to reach the level of religious fundamentalism where we have mobs torching houses and sending death threats to journalists, when a magazine publishes a cartoon image of Jesus with a condom strapped over his head.

and a little later, what could be taken as a direct defence of gnosticism.

I, for one, completely support this idea of taking legal action against the movie, and I hope that a lot of people support it.
I was writing a reply to this, commenting that the movie that depicts Jesus in a bad light is The Passion of the Christ, which shows him as a helpless wacko pansy, and my computer froze and I had to reboot.
Well, not agreeing with your views on Christ doesn´t mean they are misrespecting Christ. He was just married, according to that version, for God´s sake!
It's a shitty book and a worse movie, but I don't think you should try and censor it.
And because Jesus Christ is a seperate entity from you, you cannot demand that he be respected as a "human right." It's like demanding that it's your right to have everyone respect your president/prime minister/fascist dictator/what-have-you.
Why does religion get a pass on the respect issue? Why are we not allowed to question your rediculous claims for fear of offending you? If you made stupid claims about economics or history no one would give a rats ass if the offended you in the refutation.

No, it's not. You do have the right to follow any religion you like, leave or change your religion and, within a few practical limits, to worship as and when you see fit. You do not have a right not to be offended.
No, it isn't, one of the human rights is to freely practice your religion, without being discriminated against for doing so. This book does not infringe on your ability to practice your religion.
Your human rights end where my human rights begin, ya know. Will you respect my atheistic non-belief just as much as you want your religious beliefs respected?
