I have been blessed with a most Godly daughter. She has been raised to love the Lord and she, as I, believes in the word of God. She has told me in no uncertain terms that she wishes she didn't live in the United States and that she had not been born in this century.
Her reasons, in part, are as follows:

Wake up! This is a beautiful just-turned-eighteen year old girl! My daughter is as pure as driven snow, having been raised without the influence of Hollywood's garbage. We don't have television and don't want it. We don't go to the movies. She doesn't read the newpapers because she hates the bra and underwear ads in it.
And you wonder why a woman would want to "hide" behind a scarf!!! ????

so jodi tell me...does this daughter of your cut herself? it seems to me that not being raised with TV, movies or newspapers would be hard to do. what about the internet or as you fundies call it "the devils somethin er other"? do you have that? because that would be just as helpful in telling youd daughter what an idiot she is for wanting to live where she is required to wear a chador. so get her a chador, a plane ticket to iran and send her there, lets see how long she lasts being a) american and b) christian.

That, madam, is child abuse! I don't wonder for one second why your daughter would want to hide behind a niqab, burka or chador; it's YOUR fault, as you have been hiding her from real life since she was born. It must have been a real shock to her to suddenly be eyed by boys and men, when you finally let her out.
Oh, and a hijab is a scarf, and it merely covers the hair and neck, not the body. Neither burka, niqab nor chador is a scarf. I bet you can wear a chador in the US, if you really want to. I've seen women with foot-long voluminous dresses and coats and hijabs in my little town in Sweden.
YOU need to wake up, asshole, and see that you have destroyed your daughter. The only place she will feel at home is in a monastery.
