This is a major-level oxymoron. Infinite torture is far too severe a punishment for any crime or number of crimes anyone on Earth could ever commit, and not believing something unsupported by evidence is not a crime.

In that case, he's omniscient, and therefore has no free will. Since everything is predetermined, even God, I guess we can't blame him for what he does. (Unless we're predetermined to.) If you merely mean that we would die without God, then he must be out at a massive keg party or something, because no one has ever lived even a mere 200 years! If God is trying to make sure we don't die, he's doing a really shitty job.

No excuse for what? Not being perfect? Sorry there, mate. If God is out there and has rules he wants me to follow, he can come in here and tell them to me. Unless an actual god shows me rules he wants me to follow, I will assume that no gods exist or that they have no rules they want me to follow. Of course, even if a god came to me with a set of rules, he/she/it would need a good reason why I should follow them. I won't do something solely because I'm told, even if a god is telling me to do it.
