I always found that story radically unfair. Why is it always the \"you should be happy you're second best, so nyer\" argument? If I was one of the \"chosen\" people, I'd feel downright ashamed of being chosen.

I agree with maddog - arm 'em all the fundies to the teeth (no nukes!), ship 'em all to a desert somewhere, and let 'em fight to the last man/woman. Then we can lock up the survivor in a bug house and the world would be safe. (At least until the next fuckwad figures out that they can control the masses with religion... never mind, my head hurts.)
