Hell is under the earth. Magma or the molten material under the earth is the 'lake of fire' mentioned in the bible. There are credible undertakings I've read of researchers drilling deep into the earth and lowering instruments to it. They recorded highly discernable human cries and moans of incredible suffering and that wasn't the intention of the research.
I hope that is one reason enough to believe in a hell or eternal punishment and to try to avoid an erupting volcano at all cost!!

I found an audio file online that has a snippet of the Art Bell show, where the supposed "noises from hell" recording is played. Judging by the tape, hell is a subway station inhabitated by a single wailing female.

Well, of course it's a subway station, after all, Hell is underground! All those lost souls spent the last 200 years tunneling all over the Earth to create the Underground Railroad which helped to liberate the slaves. I saw a documentary on it years ago called "The Mole People"

Sure it is. A post by an obviously bias fundie, who was duped by an old urban legend, from a messageboard that's certainly noted for it's scholarly insight is all I needed.
At least I'll have no trouble avoiding this erupting volcano you speak of. We don't get that kind of geological activity where I am, but thanks for caring.
This is so pathetic that I laughed when I read it. Hell is underground because there is magma underground. Oh and don't forget the wailing and screaming scientists recorded.
Once again I will ask:
If scientists discovered that and most scientists agreed that those really were human voices, why isn't it used in church, by JW's and all those other people trying to convert you on the street corners? I can see it happening.
Random man on streetcorner: Would you please listen to this audio record?
ME: Why?
Random man: Because it is a recording of hell and you are going there.
ME: HAHAHAHAHA
As Queenofswords said at Nut Watch:
"So a drill went right through the gates of hell? What are they made of, cardboard? And you'd think that the "millions of humans" (how Dr. Azzacove knew they were humans is a mystery for the ages did he take DNA samples or something?) would take any chance to get out of there. Not only do they not try to escape, Dr. Azzacove never makes any attempt to help them. Probably because he's a lousy commie and all."

Actually, the people who frequent the Rant Arena on that forum tend to be far above the average for Internet forum-goers. Even most other interactions even with this guy have been unalarming. This post, however, simply baffled me. =)
I heardit and it doesnt sound like more
than 10 people...though Hell is the molten core and bottomless pit, when a volcano erupts Hell is enlarge -ing herself,...I dont believe the tape to bereal thoo.
"You upabide yourself amongs the music and the ryme, said you there... greengrass and volclides forever fisklin castles of stone sodden glory,
LassvagueUs we sayth that we adore,.. you,.. as kings and queens bow fisklin ment for you"
In other words,,,volcanoes are the chimneys of hell!
But NO the tape is not that con(vince)*ing.
*not saying anything about sargeunt Carter))
Nor am I refering to "Greengrass and Hi tides being staged at a midevil palace ball..involving characters from "Wizard of Id"!
We were on a drill unit last summer, the drilling crew penatrated deep under the ocean floor, the equipment registered a massive change in temperature and the drill shaft spun freely!
My foreman (thinking of what he read of Dr. Commies experiance) ordered that we drop instruments in there and see what we could encounter.
Many instruments were lowered in,..suddenly we heard with our naked ears: music,..several of the crew exclaimed:"It sounds like an orchestra!"..the boss came to the conclusion that those devils down there in that pit,
had demonstrated GREAT musical creativaty!..after all,..we did drop down a boatload of INSTRUMENTS!
I always find the concept that someone knows where a physical hell is and believes that to be amusing. Since, were that true, I would imagine there being at least some token efforts to rescue people from hell or the more religiously motivated trying to kill the devil, just saying.
That must have been one incredibly long drill...
Have we even been able to drill all the way through the Earths crust?
*a bit of googling later* No, we haven't; the deepest mines are about 4000 meters deep and the crust is about 35-70 km thick.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
