You people dont have any idea what the hell your talking about....Stop to think this is one of the ways we can spread the word of christian to them people....this is the 1st time people there can talk about are God with out getting shot on the spot...I'm in the Army and I know you dont know the half of it! Hey dont forget are God is for War and dont give me any bullshit about how "Well this war isn't a war God wouldn't fight or want anyone to fight" If you want to limit yourself to where only half or a little lest of half of the world can read and talk about are God then your really not on his side.....before the end of time there is going to be war and the "world" is going to know and read everything about God....America is taking that step....please read more before you speak thank you!

The Christian God is for war?
What about that whole "Thou shalt not kill" thing?
Though I suppose that He already contradicted himself with Jericho, maybe He supports this war too.
Or it could be decided that God is a collection of inconsistant fairy tales, and using God to justify the killing of other people is just stupid.
Obviously a basic level of literacy is not a requirement for enlisting in the US Army.
Anyway, seeing as you are obviously blithely unaware of the fact, Iraq was a secular state under the previous management. Hussein may have been a brutal dictator, but give him his dues. The former Deputy Prime Minister, Tariq Aziz, is a Christian. Now that both have been deposed, fundamentalist warlords control vast tracts of Iraq.
Very clever, America.
That post from a month or two ago about the best and brightest being shipped off to war, and the rejects being left behind to breed with the women, suddenly becomes all the more poignant!
If this guy is an example of the "best and brightest", then I think I may not feel so bad about this Iraq debacle now. Sure, it sucks as much as it did before, but if it keeps people like private McManus from breeding, well, I guess every mushroom cloud DOES have its silver lining.
If you want to limit yourself to where only half or a little lest of half of the world can read and talk
Prvt. McManus seems to already be in this category. Grammar is weeping now.
"them people"
"talk about are God"
Why should anyone take advice, on what Xians proclaim to be the greatest of all choices, from an ignorant and stupid person such as you.
"this is the 1st time people there can talk about are God with out getting shot on the spot"
Why don't you test this assertion by standing on a busy street corner in Baghdad and preaching about the word of God. Please, bring your own body bag.

To be fair to the fundies, (well, not really), the well known 'thou shalt not kill' appears in the King James Bible. Some other Bibles say it is 'thou shall not murder'. Too bad for their sake, most fundies are KJVonlyists.
OK Dan, your dad may be a McManus, and his dad may have been a McManus, as was his dad before him.
So far you are yet to earn the McM portion of your name!
Hey, this is a good idea for an army recruiting poster! Turn wars into fights for God! That way, the troops stay motivated, since they're fighting for a lie that they don't dare question, and we don't have to worry about sane or nice people getting shot at; all casualties will be fundies who would otherwise struggle to take away the freedoms they're unwittingly fighting for! Plus, these guys need an outlet for their aggression; better to have them shoot at nasties abroad (NOT in Iraq!) than to shoot at gays or atheists or Mexicans at home!
OK, enough with that, now.
This reminds me of the "You think you know what you're talking about, but you don't. I work for (or with) [contentious subject]. This is how bad information gets spread around" thing from Fark. It gets bonus points, though, for being completely insane instead of merely tongue-in-cheek.
(And if I had been able to find a copy of it, I'd have posted the whole thing. Alas, I was unable to do so.)
The Christian God is for war?
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
-- Exodus 15:3
You obviously have never read your bible private. Thus, it is you who do not know what the hell you are talking about. Your god does not authorize war to spread the faith. Your god expects you to kill every man, woman, child and animal among the enemy, as it says in the book of Joshua.
The people of Iraq, just like people everywhere, are better off without your god or its bible! Please read more before you speak. You're welcome.
I am suddenly even more impressed by the various atheist soldiers that I know. Not only do they have to deal with long hours, cramped tanks and APCs, lousy food, and the possibility of getting shot at and/or having to shoot somebody, but they have to put up with people like Prvt. McManus running around with deadly weapons.
First, our =/= are
Second, the best way to convince others that your deity is the right one is NOT to bomb their country back to the Stone Age, killing a lot of men, women and children in the process. If you conquer a country completely, then you can FORCE your deity onto them, but you will probably not conquer Iraq to that extent.
Killing people's neighbors, mothers and friends will not make them interested in your side of things.
Btw, they already believe in the same deity as you do, just a different version of him.
This idiot isn't in the army. I've served with some morons, but even the dumbest private knows how to abbreviate his rank.
And no, war is not the time to try to concert people.
Confused?
