Someone failed, or more likely never took, Scientific Method 101.

You can't handle the truth.

Given you just acknowledged it's incumbent position; perhaps you really should discard your obsolete, superceded superstition then.

So, the \"truth\" isn't likely to be the theory which is the best model? The truth is more likely to be some crack-pot crap dreamed up thousands of years ago by ignorant, desert bumpkins?
Curious that one would select \"IamGideon\" as a screen name. Brutal Gideon selected the members of his army by the sole criterion of prospective members lapping up water like dogs.

Well we learn the truth by using the best current model, then modifying it slightly (if at all) when we gain new information.
So I'd say the current model is pretty relevant.

\"Best current model\" means that given what we know so far, this is probably the truth, dipshit. And science doesn't do 100% certainty - everything is subject to change if further data tells us that something isn't right. Even Newton's Laws have been modified when it was discovered that F=ma wasn't the whole story at high energies (relativity) or low (quantum physics). Evolution, like gravity, fits all known data so well that it's unlikely we'll see any more than minor modifications to the theory.

This demonstrates something that I have unfortunately been seeing more of lately, and that is a complete misunderstanding of the very basis of science and empiricism. The answers do not just appear on the page in front of you. You work at it, and you make a lot of stupid mistakes in the process.

Evolution is the best current model, but it doesn't explain everything with 100% certainty! Let's throw it out. We want the complete truth!
The train gets me to class, but it doesn't get me there within one second! Let's demolish it! I want to get to class instantly!
Medical science has increased our lifespans, but it hasn't made us immortal! Let's throw it all out! We want to be immortal!
What other useful things can we throw out or deem \"irrelevant\" because they don't do everything perfectly?

\"What is the truth?\" is too advanced a question for you. Why not start with \"What is punctuation?\" - don't come back until you've discovered the answer.

Dear IamGideon,
Well, the truth is we are here and the theory of evolution is the best explanation for how. And as there is no alternative, any assertions you make to the contrary are irrelevant. Have a nice day.

The truth is something we will never reach, we simply approach it asymptotically. the best current model is just that, the closest we currently are to the truth.
