[In response to the news of police using pepper spray on anti-war protesters]
If the police used bullets, it would have served the protesters right.

Ok, you know that rather incredibly fucking cold hard rage post that I posted a few hours ago? Now that I think about it, that applies to those who wish to undermine, damage, ignore, repeal, or just plain trample over our rights. Not only our Constitutional rights, our rights as American citizens, but the basic rights that go to any human being, until they prove unworthy of those rights.
Ok, so let me get this straight - there were some people protesting against the fact that the US decided to remove Saddam from power - the latest excuse for this being he was an evil scumbucket who purportedly did terrible things to some people he didn't like.
You think that this is punishable by death and your Government should be allowed to kill any citizens that disagree with its point of view?
Please explain why that's not OK on the other side of the world, but is fine here?

Do we already have a "There Goes the Last Shreds of Democracy" award this month? Or am I misusing the category?
So many people died for free speech, here in America and all over the world. The government line that our soldiers are fighting to bring democracy to Iraq presumably includes the right to free speech.
How can conservatards not see the irony in telling their own people to shut up while crowing that they're bring the right to free speech to others??
Remember, it's not about freedom. It's about taking over the world. Conservative Christian types already believe they're slaves, so they don't think "earthly" freedoms matter much. They want to make everyone agree with them; "freedom" is just a tool to exploit in the process.
(*Also: My first submission to get an award!)
Napolean the clown "Rubber bullets? That could have worked too, I guess."
If you are serious just keep in mind that the so-called "safe-bullets" (which makes no sense at all) like plastic and rubber bullets kill hundreds of people, especially when shot at heads/close range. It's just one of those smiley terms like 'friendly-fire' and 'sunshine-units'.
Remind me of this point the next time Phelps and his ilk act up, or there are protesters at an abortion clinic.
What's that? Only applicable if you disagree with the protesters views?
Worked at Kent State.
Idiot.
War! Hoo! Yeah! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!
If the police did that, there'd be protests against that too. Think for a second there.
The US is a democracy, if you want to live in a country where they use violence against protesters, move to China, or a lot of places in the Middle East. Nobody will miss you.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
