Riiight... to make America Christian, kill the majority of Christians?
Which Bible does this guy read?
6/1/2006 2:45:23 AM
Wow - is the final boss the ghost of Thomas Jefferson?
I nominate this for a \"Jesus is rolling in his grave\" award!
(could you get any further away from his message - it was bad enough when they deified him - NOW THIS)

I was wondering if this would end up here. If this thing ever gets published, it'd better be rated M or higher. That kind of violence goes right into GTA territory and takes it to a whole new level.

Napoleon the Clown
What. The. Fuck.
6/1/2006 3:08:53 AM
Holy shit that's messed up
6/1/2006 3:10:06 AM
Yup, that's how Jesus converted people to a life free from materialism and violence. I read it in the bible.

Hey look, I found the Sixth Commandment in this guy's dumpster!

What a bad idea. Personally, I loathe the amount of violence in most video games, but really, a Christian shoot 'em up?
I think the most interesting part of this will be to see the reactions or lack of reactions from the various Christian factions.

you can stab them with a crucifix!

I second \"Jesus Rolling in His Grave\" award.
Yes, but Noah's ark is just stupid and funny.
6/1/2006 4:22:28 AM
Jesus is rolling in his grave like a car axle at 200 mph.
6/1/2006 4:33:58 AM
I'd rather take WoW anyday, sweethart!
6/1/2006 4:58:00 AM
Hoo boy. I can't wait to see game mods for this.
6/1/2006 5:39:37 AM
You can never begin early enough with brainwashing.

Naw, the main boss will be Tom Hanks as the guy from Da Vinci Code.

My favorite part of the linked article is this:
\"If violence, coarseness, and materialism are serious social problems, then what purpose is served by exploiting a global pastoral network to mass market a game about mass killing, whether in the name of Christ or the AntiChrist?\"
Uh, money? Duh.
6/1/2006 7:44:46 AM
That would be one of the few games I would try to lose at on purpose.

Bart: “Got ‘em!”
Tod: “No, you just winged him and made him a Unitarian.”
6/1/2006 9:48:33 AM
Uhm... wow. I can see this getting absolutely no where fast.

On the lighter side, this game is supposed to let one play the antichristian side. Under no circumstances would I buy this pile of stinking goat s***, but to obtain a pirated copy and play the \"evil\" side, that could be fun (but instead, this game is programmed by brainwashed followers of Rick Warren, so it is going to be dull, I think).
This article and even more the comments are extremely pessimistic, showing to what extent those people are longing to take over the world. The first comment comes up with very disturbing stuff, showing a clear link between the methods of Scientology and Rick Warrens own church.

This sounds like a game that congress would pull off the shelves almost instantly. It could be called \"The New Inquisition.\" Best of all the player could be invincible and have infinite ammo (God is on your side), and the reward for converting everyone would be the same as if you killed everyone.
We worry about violent video games affecting the impressionable and uneducated, and who is less so than your average fundie?
The question to ask yourself is WBWJBOTBOTH? Who's brains would Jesus blow out the back of their heads?
6/1/2006 1:35:58 PM
Pinky: What do you want to do tonight, pastor?
Pastor: Try to take over the world.

The goal is to CONVERT or kill, among others, Catholics and (especially?!?) moderate mainstream Christians? They are ALREADY Christians, so how are you supposed to convert them? And if they are already on your side, why on Earth would you want to kill them?
The \"reasoning\" here seems to be that the ideology most to be reviled is the one that is closest to your own without actually quite matching it. Bizarre!
This makes Grand Theft Auto sound almost wholesome.
