People in the Hull East constituency knew that previously, Karl Turner (Labour) voted for the legalisation of same-sex marriage. He is also pro-Europe; Siemens' expansion of it's wind turbine facilities in Hull. A place - which will be City of Culture next year - is mainly white.
So why then, in the general election a couple of years ago, was he returned to Parliament with an increased majority, beating the neo-Nazi National Front & UKRAP?
UK: Voting with ballot papers; a 'X' next to your chosen candidate/party/decision. 'First Past The Post'. The police ensure the security of the ballot boxes from the polling stations to the places where the counts take place, as well as overseeing said places so as there is no interference in the counting process; that's why the elected candidates - in their speeches when elected - always praise them for their work in ensuring the counts & elections are fair.
Karl Turner (Labour, Hull East) did the same.
The Liberal Democrats - now not even the third party in Parliament - are in no position to push 'Electoral Reform' as they had done previously; that being
'Proportional Representation' as opposed to 'First Past The Post'.
Karl Turner is a barrister; previously with Yorkshire's most successful law firm, Max Gold Partnership. His success electorally - especially a couple of years ago - and therefore politically. Question:
What the fuck does Donald Fart know about politics?
A poster slogan from 1960 springs to mind: 'Would you buy a used car from this man?' [/Watergate]
