Funny. I though that it was purely down to the high-tech weapons (to say nothing of the Megazords), and the fact that the battle scenes one sees in "Power Rangers" are originally from the Shinto/Zen Buddhist Country Japan; the myriad 'Sentai Team' series, the footage used from them are as much as 25 years old, and the Western aspects (the characters in "MMPR") are merely made & crowbar'd in between such.
