mexico is a third world country because it is full of mexicans. Any city in the US that becomes latinized becomes just like mexico with a corrupt city government. Therefore the fault is not with the mexican government. It is with the mexican people who create mexico wherever they go.

Uh, no, the government of Mexico is corrupt and fucking over most of their country. Also, the value of thier currency (the peso) is very low. Their economy is in the shitter. That kind of makes it hard to do very well.
There is actually an arguement that suggests that the reason why the Mexican government is in the shitter is because they introduced American principles into their Constitution/government as opposed to their own principles. Borrowing from another culture is good, but when it comes to running the government for the good of the people, the will of the people will be somewhat incompatable with the principles of another country.
Then again, Kathy29 has its head up its ass, so such things like Mexican principles will not reach its ears.
This reminds me of an old racist joke.
You know the worst thing about Mexico (Irag, afganistan,Cuba or whatever)?
Mexicans! (or Iraqis, Afganis, Cubans, etc)
It isn't even a good joke. It is worse when some moron takes it serious.
Yet another person who simply can't make the connection between the concepts of "government" and "people". They're by no means the same thing, but in any but a despotic country they are NOT entirely different entities. I bet this guy also thinks democracy is the greatest thing in history, worth fighting and dying for, but wouldn't trust his government to look after a pet rock.
"The problem isn't Mexico, it is the Mexicans making Mexico... Sound logic there... Can't argue with it... *Crying* "
It's exactly the same logic as "The Bible is true because God says it's true, and God says so right in the Bible..."
I don't get into tears over it, though. I simply put a stamp on the person's forehead so that I know, in the future, not to bother reasoning with him/her any more.
Mexico is a third world country. The term has fallen out of use because it has lost its signifigance. The first world refered to The US and its NATO allies during the Cold War. The second world refered to the Soviet Union and their Warsaw Pact allies. The third world was all the unafiliated countries.
Because these cold war terms are no longer relevant the world is now divided into the developed nations, and perhaps over optimistically developing nations. So yes Mexico is classed as a developing naion, but so is the poorest of the poor in Africa, and South America.
Mexico: The government is corrupt at all levels, meaning that the everyday person has to struggle just to make ends meet.
United States: The main problem isn't that there is Mexicans; the main problem is those Mexican immigrants who aren't adapting. Those Mexican immigrants who are adapting are contributing nicely to the overall welfare of the nation.
Ah yes, Mexico a land who's citizen's are inherently evil because there's one set of rules for the poor, but the rich can buy their way out of trouble or into office and the poor in their struggle to survive are endlessly exploited to make others rich!
Blimey, Mexico starts at the 49th parallel does it?
(Skyfire, are you trying to get quoted?)
The Gadsden Purchase was after the war and was more or less saying; "Take this money or you'll lose another war with us and we'll take it by force." It included only the lower part of Arizona and New Mexico, but it also made America feel a little better about the war by allowing them to try to claim it "fairly" settled the matter of all the land already seized (they already lost the land and refusing the money would not have gotten it back). Anyway, that small part is not big on natural resources and in actuality I was thinking more along the lines of Texas and Southern California.
Skyfire, just to point out--the main problem in the US isn't Mexicans. We have plenty of other real worries.
That's what I said: the Mexicans themselves aren't a problem.
The real issue at hand is whether or not those who come into the US adapt to life here in the United States.
That's what we need to do! Rid Mexico of Mexicans. Er ... but, technically speaking, the only way to do that would be to eliminate everyone living there. What with the definition of the word "Mexican" and all.
I bet Kathy29 is white, at least upper middle class, and doesn't work and hasn't worked a day in her damn life. I bet she just sits in her 5-bedroom 5,000 sq.ft. suburban house each day and kisses her husband's ass the moment he walks in the door each night... She probably watches FOX News all day and thinks it's makes her a Political genius...
All while the Mexican maid cleans the house and takes care of the children.
Oh, yes, never mind the white Spanish conquistadors who caused a massive genocide of the native inhabitants, never mind the brutal and oppressive hacienda system, never mind the Mexican-American war which ended with the U.S. taking Texas and New Mexico away, and never mind U.S. investors going down to Mexico and taking the best resources for the sake of imperialism.
May I point out an embarrassingly obvious fact? Kathy, the Mexican government is made up of Mexicans. Therefore, to say that one is not at fault and the other is is astonishingly stupid and ignorant. I hope you get trampled by a mob of angry Mexicans, you racist imbecile.
Confused?
