if hte evidence was as strong as everyone says it is for global warming then more people would believe it. which just seems odd as to me...since if the world was getting hotter then i think we would notice it..but we havent
and as for the hole its just a big contrediction in the theory. i mean first they tell us that gasses create holes which are bad then they say that the gasses actually make us hotter. well which is it?? holes or hotter?????? and if there was holes why wouldnt the gasses be sucked out into the 'vaccum of space'??

Well, the term "hole" in describing the regional depletion of the ozone layer is admittedly a misnomer, but the way he goes about questioning this finally has me genuinely suspicious that this guy is simply a dedicated troll. I can't imagine anyone (outside of, maybe, a schizophrenic) actually trying to simplify the questions on global warming so much as to assume that all gases have the same effects!

No, not a schizophrenic. They can actually be quite intelligent. Their issues are more along the lines of unwanted extras with reality...
Nick, Morbo may appreciate your homage, but he'll probably still DESTROY YOU.
AngryNotice has missed out just one of my personal favourite misconceptions about global warming - the good old "common sense" that, because CFCs are denser than air, there's no way they can get up high enough to damage the ozone layer, so we can just keep on scrapping fridges and happily venting away. No prizes for spotting the mistake, because it's not exactly challenging to anyone who knows anything about fluids (say, the amount that could be learned by pouring milk into a mug of tea).
If it weren't for that one omission, this guy would be very close to some kind of award for simultaneously having EVERY KNOWN misconception about a given topic, something I believe we have yet to encounter here.
Napoleon, I wasn't intending to imply that schizophrenics were stupid, merely that their perceptions and reasoning processes were impaired by their condition, interpreting everything through its filter; intelligence doesn't do much good when you KNOW , beyond any breath of a doubt, stuff that just isn't so.

Ah. Well, schizophrenics aren't really prone to that kind of delusion. Theirs are more along the lines of fucked up shit noone should ever have to see/hear/feel(physicaly as well as emotionally)/smell/taste/think... They generally get fucked over with perceptions. Not as much with the workings of the atmosphere. That's not to say they won't have wacky beliefs about what makes it do what causes it to do what it does.
So jah, perceptions are the fucked thing.
Vacuum of space is in quotes why now?
Two possibilities:
1) He understands, through studying the evidence accumulated by scientists, that interplanetary space is not a true vacuum, but is in fact dusted with micrometeorites, a few very-simple molecules of gas from the solar wind, and high-energy charged particles released from distant stars; or
2) He doesn't believe in any of this "Space" nonsense, because everyone knows the Earth is a flat plate capped by a solid transparent Vault of Heaven a few hundred miles above our heads.
My money's on the latter....
Napoleon, thanks for the clarification. I'm not a psychologist, and don't even play one on TV, so I'll admit that I'm no expert on that stuff.

<<< if hte evidence was as strong as everyone says it is for global warming then more people would believe it. >>>
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. I'm not sure about global warming myself, but it's more because I believe we overestimate our ability to understand what our effect on climate is, not because we overestimate the effect itself.
<<< since if the world was getting hotter then i think we would notice it..but we havent >>>
Considering that the past few years have been unusually warm, I think people have noticed. (Whether this is just a natural cycle or indications of something more dire is hard to tell. It's been about ten years since the last heat wave I can remember like this one, and the previous one was ten years before that.)

That entire paragraph is the most heavily concentrated pile of stupid I've seen in the past three weeks.
Confused?
