['Regarding abortion to save the mother's life: But as I've said before, i still want the choice to be there. And in order for it to be there, all women have to have the choice.']
well any woman who would choose her own life over her childs is a selfish bitch.

Prager, exactly. If the woman lives, she may be able to have other children. But if her current pregnancy kills her, it's almost certain to kill the baby as well, and it absolutely makes sure she won't get any further chances. It's just basic sense, both for survival and for procreation.

Abortion outcome: A few cells die (possibly a foetus if the decision is comparatively late), and the mother is potentially traumatised.
"Pro-Life" outcome: Mother dies, child grows up with only one parent, possibly none if the father took off before the birth (it happens).
Should we explain to this idiot that in many, many cases, the life of the mother AND the child are in jeopardy? Why should BOTH of them die?
Oh, right, I know what this guy will say: "The mother should WANT to die to be with her child."
...jess hon, it's nice to know you would prefer to see me dead and the mutated, physically crippled, mentally damaged fetus that was killing me alive for the few years it survived hooked up to a machine. But y'know what? I'd bet if you were the one at risk, you'd save your own skin too. *twitch*
People like this cunt make me so furious, not just because of their stupidity but because I know they won't even LISTEN if you try to point it out to them. They'll stick their fingers in their ears and hum hymns until you go away, then claim they won.
And I consider any idiot who still has both eyes, both kidneys, both arms and both legs, intact lungs and liver, in a world filled with those who can't see, pee or live, a selfish cunt.
Here's a fun game you can play with pro-lifers:
Ask them if they believe abortion is permissible if the pregnancy is the result of the woman being raped.
If they say "no", you get to call them a cruel bastard for condemning the woman to bear the rapist's child.
If they say "yes", you get to call them a hypocrit, because in that case it's not the child's life they care about, it's "punishing" the mother for having consensual sex out of wedlock.
Either way, you win!
tracer, don't forget, Senator Bill Napoli found a middle ground:
"A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life."
In a case like this, it's not bloody likely that the fetus would live either, but assuming it did, any woman who would choose to die and leave a child without a mother and, most likely, with a strong dose of life-long guilt, is a sick, crazy cunt.
What if it's her own life over *neither*, which is more likely to be the case in these circumstances?
<<< Please put your own face mask before assisting a child with theirs >>>
I think the reason for that is that if you help them with theirs and then pass out, if they couldn't put their own on they're not likely to be able to help you. And then you're kinda screwed.
So, just so I'm understanding here:
We have two lives. Ending one of those lives will save the other. Allowing that life to continue will kill them both.
Ah, I get it now. Perfectly clear. Let them both die! Utterly selfless and logical! How could we unenlightened people be so foolish? Thank you for pointing out the sensible course of action.
Pond scum.
Anonymous earlier poster: I dunno... call me crazy, but I agree with Just Jess. Why would you deny someone a chance at life just to save your own? That's kinda selfish...
So, when can we expect you to schedule yourself for surgical removal of all your vital organs so that they can be donated to people who need them in order to live?
So what happens if the mother already has 5 other kids at home? I guess those kids should watch their mother die and then be forced to grow up without her.
I bet jess is one of those twits who protests this sort of thing until she finds herself (or her daughter) in the exact same situation. And then abortion is ok, for her.
You do realize that in most of those situations, the baby will die right along with the mother. It happened to a friend of mine, and she left behind another child who had to grow up without a mother. She risked her life to have him too. Of course all the so called pro-lifers were nowhere to be found when she needed help caring for the baby, and raising money for her medical bills. It was all of us pro-choice friends who helped her with that.
The pro life crowd was also strangely quiet & out of sight during her funeral, and afterwards when her family needed comfort and support, and her husband needed help raising his son alone.
I guess they thought their job was done.
I guess I married a selfish bitch, then. Mind you, I'd rather have her than have tried to raise a child without his/her mother, which is what medical opinion suggested might happen if she'd continued the pregnancy, although more likely I'd have lost them both.
So maybe I'm a selfish bastard, too. Bite me.
I'll chose my life over a clump of cells any day thanks.
As for actual children, that's a tricky question.
Also, if the mother dies, the embryo/fetus dies anyway, unless it's far enough along to survive outside the mother, in which case you can just do a c-section before anything bad happens and solve the whole problem without any death.
Why kill both mother and unborn baby when you can save one of them by removing the embryo/fetus? That's just plain dumb.
What if the child is going to die anyway?, remember that, while pregnant, the baby can't live without her
Confused?
