It also demonstrates a lack of empathy and humanity - why, exactly, should certain human beings be denied medical aid? Strictly speaking, I suppose they don't pay part of the taxes that supports public health, but then again, I expect the massive losses due to things like people missing appointments and taking up a doctor's time with the common cold or paranoia about bird flu massively outweigh the \"losses\" you'd incur by providing for non-citizens.
If you were a doctor, and some terminally ill illegal alien turned up at your office, possibly dying, would you turn them away? Fuck getting paid, I'd treat him.

Do some people abuse the health care system? Sure. And not all of them are illegal aliens, by the by. It doesn't mean that we should deny sick people health care.
My dad's a doctor, and he gets heavily screwed because he practices in an area where a lot of people aren't insured and/or can't pay him. Does he move to a new area? No, because he's a doctor and he knows they need care.

Ok, as a marine Bio major, I can tell you that not only will a mostly primate disease will not pass to sharks, even if it did sharks have very powerful immune systems that could probably shake it off in a week or so.
