A negro is best when he serves at the table. When he does that he's doing what he knows best. And the Negroes who have asvended to posistions in government, in education, this sort of thing, I think you'll find, by an dlarge, have a strong strain of white blood in them. Now, I'm no racist and this school is not a racist institution. I can't stress that enough. But what I say is purely what I have been taught, and what I have been able to stufy is the teaching of the scripture.

always taken care to say that they are not, in fact, a racist? I have never heard any non-racist person feel a need to make this statement, which has led me to believe that saying it, automatically classifies the speaker as they very thing they are denying.
So black people automaticaly know how to serve at tables? Methinks that black people, like everyone else, can learn to do most things anyone else can do. I still can't understand why some people can't grasp that concept.
LOL I read the rest of that article, and the thing that jumped out at me...the most ironic thing in there, is that Bob Jones IV, the man who was being groomed to take over as president of Bob Jones University...did not actually attend BJU himself. That's hilarious!
If you have to proclaim that you are not a racist and that your school is not a racist institution, then you and your school probably ARE racist.

It's because these people have more of a problem with the negative connotations associated with the word "racist" than racism itself. It's like saying, "I respect women as equals, but they should accept their lower intellectual capacity and know their place (misogyny)," "I'm not saying the rape was her fault, I'm just saying she brought it on herself (victim blaming)," "I have no problem with gays so I'm not a homophobe, but if the homosexualisation of this country continues, soon we'll be marrying cows and having furniture orgies (homophobia)."
