I'm an American because I was born here and so were my parents and some of my grandparents. What exactly do we stand for and tolerate? Please enlighten me.

Since I have yet to discover what you are referring to, I won't speak yet. Although I would like to say that as much as I would absolutely love to visit France one day (hopefully soon), and as much as I admire the French and their culture, I'd still prefer to stay here. Maybe because he/she doesn't become a "normal heterosexual." It's not real. What those "help" groups are doing is repression: emotional and psychological repression. Would you say the same thing if a black teenager was sent to a racist camp, got a Michael Jackson makeover, and was sent back out into the real world as a white teenager, supposedly cured of his "blackness?" No matter what you may tell yourself, homosexuality is not a disease or akin to a drug addiction. It doesn't need to be "cured."
