These people seem pathologically incapable of subtlety.
Sure, the cartoon is rightist propaganda but among the counsellor’s books are, "Islam as Fact: Bible as Myth." That would violate the First Amendment.
"The Lie of Nationalism" - what; nationalism is the lie, or that globalisation is?
And for some reason, the straw-liberal also has a science(?) book prominently placed in his office: "Global Warning: Aesop's Fables." (I'm sure Mick Williams thought that was terribly clever.)
Williams doesn't even attempt to draw a realistic enough face for people to recognise a drawing of Marx so he inserted a photo instead...but then why the fuck not? If you're going to post idiocy like this, there's no real point putting effort into it.
The ridiculous conversation - one that would never happen in real life - is beneath contempt.
Libby claims she got into trouble for talking about the Bible, which is somehow scary to the straw man, who answers that ridiculous assertion with an absolutely stunning non sequitur about gender reassignment among other things.
Libby also claims that, although she retains the information taught at school, she doesn't believe a word of it. She, a scholar and rich in life experience, thinks she has a right to sneer at her teachers an attitude her stellar parents somehow forgot to teach her is unbecoming to say the least and so the straw man, now angry, offers her a way to “atone” for learning at home.
Satire is supposed to deal with uncomfortable subjects; to make people think. This crap isn't satire, and nor is this “art” a vehicle for conveying dangerous truths that could get Williams fined, beaten, jailed, or worse. (That won't happen, of course, because Williams' body lives in a country very different than the one in his head.)
My favourite part, however, is how Libby turning the other cheek is for fags would react to a school activity by first having her dad assault the straw man then call his lawyer
as if there's any possible legal defence for assault because the school signed the kid up for a program her parent doesn't like.
Is violence the answer only at school or is this yet another of those things Libby learned at home?
Mick Williams has no respect whatsoever for the intelligence of his readers - and he gets away with it: There are enough dimbulbs out there who think the world works this way that no effort is required on his part. He draws a shitty cartoon full of equally shitty assertions and those who share his ideology will clap since they're willing to fill their heads with any amount of garbage just as long as it's rightist-approved.
