To my mind, the God of Israel is a weak, puny, useless God. If he had any real strength he'd evict anyone but his Chosen People from their Land, and he'd manage to keep them out.

And you know where things get really interesting? The much maligned Samaritans were a fantastic tribe to the North with huge cities.
