I believe he is speaking metaphorically. While JohnR7 is a nutbag fundie, I have heard others who are quite sane use similar language in a spiritual, not a literal, sense.
Where ever there's a cop, beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. Where ever there's a kid who wakes up without enough to eat, I'll be there.
Although his stupidity knows no bounds, in this case his quote is not in context. Just above this paragraph he was trying to explain that he has a connection to the people, places, and events he reads about in the Bible as through reading about them he feels as if he is there with them. I have used the same kind of language to describe especially well written fictional books that I've read to others.
Which makes you at least 2000 years old...
