Heh. His argument is that all the groups that committed crimes in the name of christianity (crusades, KKK, etc) weren't actually christians, thus christians have never done these bad things.

Read the Bible for yourself and tell me if you find anything about killing
Genesis 19.
24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
or...
Numbers 31.7
And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
That's just a couple of examples.

That's right, if you get caught, you're out of the club. That way we can maintain deniability

So basically, only the perfect people are really christians?
I say this is a good \"No true Scotsman\" award.

This reminds of two very different, yet very harsh societies: Ancient Sparta and New York in the late 19th century. The similarity? In "Age of Innocence," it doesn't matter if you're cheating on your spouse, it only becomes an issue if you flaunt it or get caught. Spartan boys weren't punished for stealing; they were punished for being foolish enough to get caught. The elders ENCOURAGED them to steal; it was part of their training. It's sad how society has not progressed in certain aspects.

No "christian" has ever stolen. No "christian" has ever lied. No "christian" has ever killed. No "christian" has ever raped. No "christian" has ever been a bigoted, ignorant fool.
...hmmm
I don't think it's working

"Dark ages and the inquisition and the crusades were don by those claiming "christianity" yet they were way off base and sadly most of those involved I'm sure are in hell."
True, those people who tortured others for not understanding God's plan didn't really understand God's plan and are being tortured for it as we speak.
