[Keep in mind that the film in question is from 1939. "Under God" was not added to the Pledge until 1952.]
I was e-mailed this website by a friend. I began watching some of the old Little Rascal episodes. In "JOY SCOUTS" they begin the short by saying the Pledge Of Alegiance. You'll notice they cut out the words "UNDER GOD" from the pledge. I am sure this was not left out of the original movie. I will NOT be going back to this website again, or passing it on. When you try to please a few people by leaving out the word GOD then you can keep it! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Think again, moron.

Or, as the Cold War congress did, when you and your pals ADD the word "God" to please a few people, you make asses out of yourselves.
"You should be ashamed of yourselves!"
It's YOU who should be ashamed. You have an impressive LACK of knowledge about your nation's history, even it's history as relates to your religion. You're an asshat.
I would love to see this fundie's face upon his learning that the phrase "under God" simply had not yet been added into the pledge at the time this film was made. The look would be priceless.
This is almost as stupid as that site set up to rant against the naming of the second Lord of the Rings movie "The Two Towers" as a shameless tie-in to the World Trade Center destruction -- because the idiots who came up with that opinion never thought to check on the actual books written years before those attacks and see what their titles were, but just jumped to conclusions.

The metal band 'Anthrax' was under attack for a while a few years back because of all the white-powder-in-the-mail packages mailed in the U.S. Folks were shocked that they would attempt to 'cash in' (however that works) on it by naming their band after the disease. For the record, Anthrax was formed in 1981.
Don't let the truth get in the way of shaming someone though!
Man, can't it prove that your friend IS RIGHT?, why are you so sure that there is an "original movie"?, and by the way, the boy scouts have their own pledge.

Or the people who were upset because the President of the Galaxy in "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" was a boffoon, so had to have been mocking President Bush.
Ah, the Little Rascals, Alfalfa, Spanky, Buckwheat, Baretta and the gang. In a simpler time when kids of different races, social status and degrees of weirdness could get along without talking about God all fuckin day.
Let's be fair here, had a fundie been behind those reels there'd be no black kids or weird ones and they'd all be boring middle class little shits with proper haircuts and clothes. And everyone would spend the time they were on in the lobby.
Her igorance of that time in America being in no way as God-Obsessed as the 50s or today is obviously from her Christian education that still tells the flock this addition of God to national edicts began with the founding fathers and Americas begining. Those are lies.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
