You are breathing aren't you?...You think you do that on your own?...God enables you to do this.

You know, I'm still thinking that my brainstem (specifically, pons and midbrain) controls involuntary breathing, and my cerebral cortex controls the voluntary. These regions send signals down nerves, which cause contraction of my "effectors," muscles which include the diaphragm. This is breathing.
Try again. No, on second though, don't. It was just sad the first time.
So why do people die? Does God just decide he's tired of doing constant CPR for threescore and ten years (or 6 months, or 43 years, or 117 years, or whatever) to keep us alive? Because I think it's pretty lousy how he shafts some people on how long they get to live.

Despite copious cigarettes a day, I am breathing on my own. Goddidit is not the answer to everything.
PS Re your username, Christ dying for me means jackshit if he only stayed dead for two days.

Which, despite having it's head cut off, lived for 18 months by virtue of there being sufficient brain stem and jugular vein remaining to ensure it's autonomic functions that controlled the respiratory & cirulatory systems kept Mike alive.
I stress Autonomic Functions.
"...God enables you to do this."
The above facts (especially medical knowledge covering human physiology) destroys your arguments.
Okay then, why don't you just remove your brain and see how well you breathe then.
Although I fear you never had a brain to begin with...
Meh'd. I don't agree, but if this person wants to believe that it doesn't effect me in any way.
Its when they decide that, since I don't agree with them I need to stop breathing, that I get perturbed.
Confused?
