They are thinking of making EIGHT year olds have to ride in booster seats - and making 12 year olds sit in the back seats - but hey, let's pass condoms out to prisoners.....

"God" forbid that we should have laws protecting children.
"but hey, let's pass condoms out to prisoners....."
Unrelated, but also a good idea. Remember, Justche, most prisoners eventually get out. If we can reduce the numbers of them that have STDs, the better off society will be. Hey, one of them might end up dating YOUR daughter, wouldn't you like him to be HIV negative?
I think I found the link! These are all good ideas.
Kids up to a certain weight and height should ride in car seats/ booster seats because of shoulder harness positioning and safety. I do wish these laws would also allow for belt clips that adjust the shoulder harness for older children, but what can you do.
Nobody that is under average adult height should ever ride up front. If you have airbags, kids shouldn't even be up front if you are parked.
Condoms for prisoners are a good idea. It identifies a problem that will not be solved by ignoring it and comes up with a solution that will allow for at least a modicum of public safety. Remember, not all prisoners are in for life. Stopping STDs from spreading is in the best interest of the community.
So... automotive safety for children is bad, and prisoners should only engage in unprotected sexual practices...?
In the interest of preserving what remains of my sanity, I'm not going to try to find a connection between these concepts, aside from the fact that justche is advocating a lack of safety.
I call libertarian.
They generally believe that people should be allowed to do what they want and that taxes are a bad thing unless absolutely necessary.
The "connection" is that parents should be allowed to judge whether their kid needs a booster seat and that the government shouldn't get involved. The government ALSO shouldn't yank more taxes out of said parents' wallets to pay for prisoner condoms.
Put that way, I agree with him.
Confused?
