If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin. Whenever we legislate sin, and we say abortion is permissible and we say gay unions are permissible, then average citizens who are not Christians, because they don't know better, we are leading them astray and it's wrong.

Ah, Kate Harris.
You know she doesn't have normal thought processes or the slightest shred of professional ethics herself.
The evidence? As the Florida Secretary of State, she was the one who ordered the recount of the 2000 Florida Presidential ballot halted.
She also happened to be George W. Bush's Presidental campaign manager.
And she saw no conflict of interest with that.
I don't mean to be petty or anything...but who is Denizen? I thought I submitted this one.
Anyway, yeah Katherine, whatever you said. You're pretty incoherent, ain'tcha?
Non-christian don't know any better?
You fucking bitch.
What an elitist attitude where you assume that those who mindlessly bow to a religious corperation are smarter than the atheists and believers in other religions.
Your imaginary god and your rituals don't prove anything. Your bible is filled with more bizarre assertians than tom cruise, r. kelly and michael jackson combined. More errors then an epileptic grandmother typing with boxing gloves on, and more laughable lies than the bush administration. How can a sane person, no matter how much they WANT to believe that something is true, believe stories of talking animals and gods thwarted by iron chariots over real life and facts? If we're not electing christians it's (hopefully) because they are douche-bags (robertson), not because we are too dumb.
Get off your high horse. With a face like that it's hard to know where the horse ends and your face begins.
Hey harris, how's the weather, up your own ass?
Yeah that's right, all those Democrat voter's didn't know what they were doing so their votes should be classed as invalid - and all those Republicans that signed their rights away and sentenced the country to 8 years of going down the shitter because someone encouraged their homophobia are stalwart bastions of justice.
*sigh*
That's as fucking retarded as his current weaselling where he admits FEMA fucked up and was unprepared for Katrina, but completely fails to mention they used to be prepared until he decimated them with his cronyism, budgetary cuts, re-organisation under the DHS and turned them from a competent agency under Clinton as evidenced with hurricane Andrew, into the backstabbing, incompetent, assfucks that still don't have a clue what's going on.
It's funny, this kind of comment is prevalent in a country with a separation of church and state. However, here in the UK, where the Bishops sit in the House of Lords, even they understand that such comments reduce public confidence.
g-21-lto: Agreed, it's extremely scary and depressing. My fear is that if it happened once, it can happen again.
McCulloch: My guess would be, all of it. But unless she is certifiably insane (which is a distinct possibility), it isn't so much a matter of not knowing or not understanding as of violently disputing it and wanting to completely change reality, forcing it to bend to her will (and the will of those who agree with her -- as we've seen here, there are indeed quite a few out there).

"If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin."
If you are not electing intelligent people with good ethics and the welfare of the people as a priority, you are electing Bush, Cheney and Katherine Harris.
"Whenever we legislate sin, and we say abortion is permissible and we say gay unions are permissible, then average citizens who are not Christians,"
An overwhelming 15-18% of the U.S. population. How is it that that 15-18% are the average?
"because they don't know better,"
No, it's because we DO know better.
"we are leading them astray and it's wrong."
Not sharing your delusion-causing Christian virus is not wrong. We appreciate your not contaminating us.
Well, if we elect a liar who is enable the killing of people, he can say that he is Christian, but he is a sinner and he is INDEED, look at forums here, misleading people.
Ah, yes, non-Christians are confused, pathetic, stupid simpletons who need a Christian to tell them exactly what to do and when to do it.
Mrs. Harris, don't you belong in a house that has a kitchen ? The Bible quite clearly states that you may never have any authority over me.

2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Or, in other words, back in the kitchen, bitch!
Confused?
