Quote# 14301

I believe the Bible overwhelmingly supports a swift death penalty for murder, rape, homosexuality, adultery, kidnapping, and yes, even unrepentant cursing of your parents. [...] If you work through the logical consequences, it is brilliant wisdom that would have saved countless lives

Executions save lives! Up is down! Black is white! All this and more on \"The retarded shit morons say\"!

8/28/2006 2:50:10 AM

If we executed every human being who cursed their parents unrepentingly...the last guy alive would have to shoot himself.

8/28/2006 2:52:16 AM

Killing for the \"crimes\" of homosexuality, adultery, and cursing of parents might each individually result in a death toll greater than we currently tolerate. Together, we'd probably lose more than half the population.

You are an idiot.

Winston Jen

So, cursing your parents leads to mass murder ten or twenty years down the road?

That's a new one on me.

8/28/2006 3:14:57 AM

Napoleon the Clown

Uh, no. It wouldn't have saved \"countless\" lives. It would have ended countless lives.

David D.G.

Ah. Obviously this is some strange usage of the term \"brilliant wisdom\" that I wasn't previously aware of.

Woah. Rewind. Say again. Think. There you go.

Of course, the biggest problem with this method is that back in the Biblical days of Stone-The-Adultress, they didn't stop to consider a person's innocence. They just said, \"Adultress! Stone her!\" And everyone went \"Yay, a stoning! Where's my braining rock?\"

8/28/2006 3:32:36 AM

Spouse leave you for a woman and you're pissed, and you decided to add on a bunch of other shit to that list?

\"If you work through the logical consequences, it is brilliant wisdom that would have saved countless lives\"

Elemination of the human race = world peace till the next creature to develop the spear.

How is being beaten to death with rocks by the members of your community a quick death? SToning isn't like David (supposedly) killing Goliath with a single rock, these people were pummeled to death with one pound rocks. That's kind of like being executed in an electric chair that is actually just a bug zapper.

Zero tolerance and death to all breakers of the law=brilliant? On what planet is this?

I'm glad I am not this person's child.

In fact, I'm glad I don't have to interact with this person in daily life at any level.

8/28/2006 5:54:29 AM

Are you talking about the trillions of animals that wouldn't have been slaughtered for food?

Disrespecting your parents wasn't cursing, it was refusing to do their bidding when they sold you as a slave or worse.

8/28/2006 6:40:00 AM

Mass genocide = saving of lives?
The stupid is strong with this one.

8/28/2006 6:53:51 AM

Stoning is not a swift penalty. it could take up quite a bit of time depending on the body parts people are aiming for.

And \"cursing\" your parents warrants a death penalty? There wouldn't be a kid alive within 20 years if that law passes.

they criticise honour-killings carried out by Muslims, and then advocate doing the same to their wives.

all fundies are as bad as each other.

I nominate this:

Extremist of the month.

8/28/2006 9:38:00 AM

You said it, Fred - your head is the first to roll! If we chop off Xian fundies heads like yours, we would save literally millions of lives!

8/28/2006 10:30:28 AM

Hes right though. If we killed everyone now, nobody would be alive to die later on... Whats a swift death penalty by the way?

8/28/2006 10:58:43 AM

From Fred's mouth comes yet another reason for not using the bible as a source of moral guidance.

8/28/2006 12:04:45 PM

I almost puked laughing when I read this.

8/28/2006 12:16:06 PM

Mister Spak

If you work through the consequences, a swift death penalty for a large variety of common crimes
would not seem to be able to save many lives.

On the same page, Fred shows that he is also a misogynist:
Women in the Church: Women play a very important and prominent role in scripture, but the Bible is clear that they cannot hold a position of authority over men within the church. So I disagree with churches that ordain women as pastors or any other positions of authority over men. The Bible is very clear that men and women are equal in God’s eyes (Galatians 3:28). But we have different purposes in God’s plan. A hammer is no more important than a saw, but you can’t use a hammer to cut a board in two, any more than you can use a saw to drive a nail.

God gave the reason why women should not have authority in the church, because they are easier to deceive (see 1 Timothy 2:14). While this is a politically incorrect thing to say, most people don’t deny its wisdom, even most women will tell you they prefer to bring a man with them when dealing with a used-car salesman! By allowing women to hold leadership positions in churches allows Satan easier access to introduce deception in the church - we see this clearly with the positions held by churches who have women Pastors, such as acceptance of abortion, homosexuality, and other socially liberal viewpoints that are contrary to scripture. One the other side of the coin, women are less obstinate and were after all the first whom Christ appeared to, and the first to actually believe that Christ rose from the dead.

\"I believe the Bible overwhelmingly supports a swift death penalty for murder, rape, homosexuality, adultery, kidnapping, and yes, even unrepentant cursing of your parents.\"

I don't believe the Bible says anything about the speed with which the death penalty should be enforced, nor can I remember any referrence to kidnapping, but he's right about the rest of it. That is what the Bible says.

\"If you work through the logical consequences, it is brilliant wisdom that would have saved countless lives\"

No, when I work through it I find cruel and unjust draconian asshattery that has cost countless lives.
