I"m in the same boat also. Health problem and Demons. Both are getting better though thru the grace of the Lord. Every Christian I know seems to have major problems. For the past year. Oddly enough, those who have no accepted Christ seem not to have problems. The Lord is probibly getting us ready for something.

The Demons are the health problem, a mental health problem. Yet he still has a persicution complex all the believers have problems and all the non-believer don't, somehow I think he will blame Clinton.
Ever think that maybe your god is the wrong god, and our god, the apparent god of atheism, is the correct one? Or as said before, we use science, medicine and logic to fix health problems and dismiss crazy fantasy demons.
Every Christian I know seems to have major problems.
If we said it, we'd be called politically incorrect!
It's a bit of a chicken and an egg thing though isn't it. What came first, the problems or the snake oil?
"I"m in the same boat also. Health problem and Demons. Both are getting better though thru the grace of the Lord."
Yeah? Why would your good and loving, omni-benevolent "God" whom the Bible claims is love itself, allow you to be sick and plagued by demons?
"Every Christian I know seems to have major problems."
Well, yeah, I've been saying that for years.
"For the past year."
For the past year...what? Try to express only complete thoughts.
"Oddly enough, those who have no accepted Christ seem not to have problems."
Everyone has problems of some nature, us non-Xians just aren't waiting for the grace of "God" to solve them for us.
"The Lord is probibly getting us ready for something."
Yeah, your imaginary friend is probably getting you ready for the return of Jesus, huh? Two thousand years and still no Jesus. Face it, chump, it just isn't going to happen.
Maybe God is punishing the Christians?
Don't you mean "testing" them? *rolls eyes*
Now you can compare yourself to Lot! God loves you sooooo much he is testing you to see how much you love him! Only the most righteous figures will be plagued with demons and sickness. Praise be to god, who in his great wisdom has chosen YOU, Man4Jesus, to suffer for your love and loyalty! Oh happy day!
Now me on the other hand, I go to the doctor when I'm sick. Praying wouldn't have helped me with my anemia. In fact, in another month, I would've been dead. Everyone was praying for me in the hospital, and that resulted in a misdiagnosis for advanced luekemia! Whoops! God must've gotten confused by all of those prayers and figured that I was a righteous soldier in his army and decided to test me! Oh he DOES move in mysterious ways, dudden he?
Do they really have bad problems, or do they just like to kvetch?
Are they starving? Are bombs falling on their heads? Do they have enough money to pay their bills?
I certainly don't want anyone to suffer, but there are people out there who are suffering more than "Health problem and Demons." I suggest you start talking to folk outside your church whose conversational topics can stretch to people other than themselves.
Once more, "God" is just the nicest guy ever, you know? Now see, MY mom gets me "ready" for hard times by packing me warm cookies and pampering me as much as possible. She also prepares me with advice and assurances of her love.
She does not hit me with a stick to harden me up for more hitting later.
If God were real, the CPS would have to take all His "children" away from Him for their own good.
The Lord is probibly getting us ready for something.
Yeah, for finding out that He really didn't give a rat's butt about what church you belonged to, how much religious ritual you went through and and how much you "accepted Jesus in your heart". The only thing that has ever been rewarded on this earth is knowledge. Maybe Christians should stop planning for the "rapture" and start trying to figure out how the world works. The Hopi indians had a simple two-commandment religion: (1) don't go around hurting people and (2) try to understand things. Christians should try that instead of focusing on stuff like "don't covet thy neighbor's wife" and "honor the Sabbath"
So, let's see. You have health problems. You pray that they get better, but they persist. Atheists, who choose medicine over prayer, have greatly reduced health problems.
Possible explanations:
1. Prayer is ineffective. Medicine is effective. (Unexplained entities: 0)
2. Prayer is better than medicine, but it isn't working now because God is testing you or preparing you or something. (Unexplained entites: 2) (Actually, you could say 3; God, the efficacy of prayer, and the nature and intentions of God, seperate from his existence.)
Thanks, Bill.
Incidentally, saying "God helps those who help themselves" is just a roundabout way of giving God the credit for your own work, while glossing over the problem of how an omnipotent loving god can be so useless .
You know... after reading more of the comments on that page.. I can almost bet that the primary reason they frequent the website is BECAUSE their lives are sucking so hard. Also maybe they wouldn't suck so bad if they got off the damn computer and did something other than look up at the sky and say "What' up yo?", and wait for the end of times to come.
Oh and of course all the non-christians in Iraq are having a fucking hay-day for the past few years.
Or, the ones who are not crazy idiots go to the doctor when they are sick. It seems like demons only attack Christians...
And please write whole sentenses. "For the past year." Something is mssing before or after that. (My guess is that it's supposed to belong to the sentence before that. But then not even a comma is requred.)
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
