Quote# 1478

My opinion is that neither should be taught though. That would take care of the problem completly. I mean evolution will never help me in my career as a biochemist so why should i be forced to study it.

A person who wants to be a biochemist can't see the necessity of learning about evolution? Talk about willful ignorance! That would be like someone wanting to become a detective without learning anything about the law!

Okay, if he said he was going to be a cashier, accountant, or burger-flipper, I could see his point that he would never need it (hell, for two of those you don't need anything more than a junior high education). But a biochemist? NOTHING WE KNOW ABOUT BIOLOGY MAKES SENSE WITHOUT EVOLUTION!

It'll be hard to find support. Some groups that may help:

Mathematicians Against Cardinal Numbers
Computer Scientists Against Turing Machines
Doctors Against Anatomy

This fuckwit, if the biochemist claim is true, probably is getting a "degree" in "biochemistry" from a "college" that teaches in Biblical fashion, just so he can use his "credentials" later on to argue from his "expert authority" that evolution theory is bogus.

I hate these fuckwits.

I mean evolution will never help me in my career as a biochemist so why should i be forced to study it.

You are either A) somewhere in junior or senior high school and have only a vague notion of what biochemistry entails, or B) you are a Poe.

And I hope it's one or the other, because if it's not, I'm going to come over there and hit you with a clue-by-four so hard that your head will pop off. >_>

"I mean math will never help me in my career as a mathematician, so why should i be forced to study it." Makes just about as much sense.

He should realize that a Biochemist usually implies research (testing as part of the course even) and therefore involves evolutional processes.

I suspect it's someone considering going through a pharmasutical program. Pharmacists seem to be like teachers in that they always claim knowledge in all areas while being only narrowly skilled towards a specific purpose.

In their "Scientests who believe in creation" lists you'll find mostly Pharmacists, Engineers, Architects and proffesors (mostly professors of theology, literature or phylophisy).
