"Recently a strongly antiabortion Southern Baptist woman sat across from me in a counseling room and said, "I'm not like all those other women out there in your waiting room." She said that, unlike all our other patients, she had "no other choice."
The reason that her abortion was morally permissible? Because she and her lover were married, but (in the words of an old C&W standard) not to each other."
I still wonder whether she still would have seen herself as uniquely special had she known that among the "other women" on that day were a 15 year-old rape survivor, and a young single mother of two children whose cancer treatment could not be continued while she remained pregnant.
But it has been my experience that the answer very likely would have been "yes."

This is the pinnacle of ridiculous. If a woman gets raped, she can´t abort, if a woman is pregnant out of wedlock through incest or deceive, she´s a sinner if she does, but this MORON says she had no other choice because she was NOT IN LOVE WITH HER HUSBAND. Utterly ridiculous.
It's true, though, she wasn't like those other women in the waiting room. One was a 15-year-old rape victim and another couldn't get cancer treatment while pregnant.
In other words, that bitch is the exact type of individual anti-abortionists, like herself , label women who get abortions.
Yeah, not like the other's all right. The other people probaly weren't gigantic hypocrites, and they were being honest with themselves. Guess that opinion changes pretty fucking fast when the finger-wagger ends up in the same prediciment.

I guess she forgot Deut. 22:22 - "If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel."
It's amazing how quickly someone's opinions change when it's their own problem.
The hypocrisy, it stinks!! Someone get me a bucket before I puke!
From the article Godling quoted:
""In 1973, after Roe v. Wade, abortion became legal but had to be performed in a hospital. That of course was changed later. For the first 'legal abortion day' I had scheduled five procedures. While scrubbing between cases, I was accosted by the Chief of the OB/Gyn service. He asked me, 'How many children are you going to kill today?' My response, out of anger, was a familiar vulgar retort. About three months later, this born-again Christian called me to explain that he was against abortion but his daughter was only a junior in high school and was too young to have a baby and he was also afraid that if she did have a baby she would not want to put it up for adoption. I told him he did not need to explain the situation to me. 'All I need to know', I said, 'is that SHE wants an abortion.' Two years later I performed a second abortion on her during her college break. She thanked me and pleaded, 'Please don't tell my dad, he is still anti-abortion.'" (Physician, Washington State)"
You'd think a gynecologist would at least know that at the time of the abortion, it is still far from being an actual baby...
Well, isn't she special. Sure, they love to gang up on twelve year old girls who had an abortion after being raped repeatedly for years on end. But it's okay if she has one, because everyone knows it's morally acceptable to hide the evidence of your adultry. This hypocrite should have a big red H sewn on the front of their shirt.
Moe: Actually, I vote for branding the scarlet letter right on the face.
And that's just for cheating on her husband, mind you; for the added hypocrisy of getting an abortion while still protesting against them and claiming some kind of moral high ground, she deserves to be pilloried and mocked as publicly as possible, her revolting hypocrisy revealed to as much of the world as can be reached.

Its not a joke. Sadly the rest of the statement was not included. Here it is.

[voice= Penn Jillete] Let's see. You believe the Bible must be obeyed, then disobey it by committing adultery. You disobey it again by bearing false witness against other people in waiting room. You disobey it again by adding to it. (The Bible doesn't condemn abortion; in fact, it says a fetus is not worth nearly as much as an adult.) Then you disobey the rule you added to the Bible. FUCKING HYPOCRITE! [/voice]
You are a really disgusting person. Abortion is not OK for a 15-year-old who was raped. Abortion is not OK for a woman who has cancer and can't treat it while pregnant. Abortion is OK so that you can hide the evidence that you cheated on your husband.
Dearie, you're JUST like all those other anti-abortion women having abortions; you think that you ALONE have no other choice, but everyone else does.
Like anti-abortion people usually say; you HAD a choice to keep your knees closed with your lover, if you didn't want a child with him.
This might be the first time I find this argument valid.
This ought to be her punishment, making sure that her face is clearly recognizable, of course.
