Right, but those layers in the bottles are made up of tiny individual rocks, it takes millions of years for them to be compressed into a sheer cliff.

LAYERS form in seconds. Compressing those layers of sand or gravel into SOLID ROCK takes a good deal longer!

[]...but go to Mount Rushmore and there is mineral growth it is now millions of years old?
Unless someone got those rocks in a varity store (dorothyne's spelling, not mine) and put them in a glass enclosure, I stand by my answer of millions of years.

Um, we carved Mount Rushmore. It didn't just grow there. :b
Certainly, sediments form faster when there are humans pouring a layer over another layer. Now all we need to demonstrate that it was this fast, is a few billion humans, all pouring sand into layers worldwide. Sadly, we're kind of busy with other things, and always have been.

Since it's been carved, minerals trapped in the rocks have been exposed, eroded out and reformed as new layers.
Or do you think Mount Rushmore (I assume she means the monument) isn't carved from very old rock?
